if to scour the dregs of the universe for the finest morsel of memory, than penacony was a cavernous pit of gluttonous hunger, steeped in the sugary filth rookie memokeepers became drunk on. that might have been him centuries prior, had kaeya’s palette for finer, rarer commodities not been refined in time. luck was not on the memosnatcher’s side if the target of his findings really was buried beneath rounds and rounds of unexitable pop-up ads, though even he had to admit that hiding gems amidst garbage was a rather brilliant idea, if that had been this particular witch’s intention.

his dharmakāya manifests into the memoric plane, phasing into the dreamscape as kaeya stepped into the threshold of the bookstore. whatever magics lined the realm of this space had been intricately woven, for it seemed as if this quiet pocket was unaffected by the sheer noise of the surrounding realm. he has memories of places like this, old and ancient tomes, papers pulsing with power, with forbidden knowledge, often hidden in riddles and fables beyond one’s comprehension. his hunger for a lost facet of his homeland might be hidden amidst the pages. he could practically taste the memoria in them.

his tip off had not been unfounded, the tomes here were rare and priceless indeed. one of doctor primitive’s research reports. a transcript from one of king rupert i’s first decrees. a somewhat, even if heavily redacted, memoir of almost-findings on polka kakamond. a script of the director’s cut for a fading nebula by mr. reca himself - such a hard to find treasure even in penacony. the fabled witch herself looked as if an ordinary woman, between the old tomes and a floating, ever-pouring teapot - though the memosnatcher had become all too wary of the most dangerous entities hiding behind benign and beautiful disguises.

          ⟡     kaeya comes from a long line of khaenri'ahns that managed to conceive children with the human forms of abyssals, beginning with chlothar alberich over five hundred years ago. because of this lineage, kaeya has always been able to harness cryo, and managed to keep this fact hidden until celestia forced a vision upon him.           ⟡     no one in mondstadt was aware of kaeya's real surname until after crepus died, including crepus and diluc. kayali alberich was raised as   "   kaeya ragnvindr   "   and it was not until he estranged himself from the ragnvindr estate that he began to go by   "   kaeya alberich,   "   both an acknowledgement of his role as a khaenri'ahn agent, and a beacon towards the necessary parties.           ⟡     kaeya has never told anyone that his real name is   "   kayali   "   and pierro remains the only person with this knowledge.

𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃:   a tall lithe build, defined muscle sculted from years of hybrid khaenri'ahn and mondstadtan swordsmanship. 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒:   warm brown skin scarred from years of battle   /   hair a deep blue shifting turquoise from the roots, getting lighter as he ages   /   an ombre streak that frames his face, a telltale sign of his abyssal heritage, held back in a low side ponytail   /   the left eye is of light glacial blue that shifts in the light to lilac, branded with the four pointed pupil that marks those of khaenri'ahn ancestry   /   as for the other eye   ;   concealed under gilded eyepatch is an iris of gold, with sclera prone to blackness under the effects of abyssal influence. 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐄𝐂𝐇:   a dulcet melodic tone with medium to low pitch, and a slow to normal pace. kaeya is eloquent and masterful with his words, often marked with a hint of an unknown accent. 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐒:   numerous piercings include his nose, tongue, chest, navel, and ears   /   he has numerous tattoos including khemian glyphs on his person which often cannot be seen under the light of teyvatan moon and sun, but will appear in domains.   /   his only visible tattoo is a black and white pair of calla lilies to the right side of his neck and collarbone.

𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐏𝐎𝐍:   swords   (   for duties, he prefers the aquila favonia, or the favonius sword.   )   kaeya's personal swords are forged with irminsul root inlaid and concealed within the blade itself, extremely valuable and used to channel his cryo in a very similar way to abyss mages and heralds.   )   kaeya is not visually impaired, but he does have a skewed sense of depth perception due to heavy reliance on his eyepatch. despite this, he is a deceptively good marksman. he has also trained with spears and catalysts, but the sword remains his primary weapon. 𝐅𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐓𝐘𝐋𝐄:   kaeya possesses a strategic, quick, and adaptable method of combat. he is known for having a mix of fast and more precise sword strikes, with blows designed to quickly change from offensive to defensive movements at a moment's notice. there is an otherworldly quality to the swiftness of his blade. he is capable of both shielding and healing himself. similar to his frostfall herald lineage, kaeya is capable of inflicting his opponent with dark frost, which slowly reduces his opponent's stamina over time.   /   kaeya is able to harness the abyss' space time manipulation in small instances   (   ie. the abyss mage's teleportation skill   )   to aid in confusing and knocking his opponent off kilter. he can use this multiple times during a short - range battle, but if teleporting long distances kaeya will run out of energy quickly.   /   kaeya is capable of manipulating the cryo element, something he has always been able to do regardless of possessing a vision or not. this aspect of him was simply repressed until he could not longer keep it a secret anymore. with his cryokinesis kaeya is capable of, but not limited to, making objects out of cryo including weapons, shields, and platforms. he can even make semi-sentient beings that are capable of holding and transferring messages via vision energy. kaeya uses this aspect of his element more for surveillance in the form of snowbirds. he learned most of his cryo instruction from other cryo mages and heralds.

          ⟡     kaeya came to mondstadt at around eight years old already proficient in both cryo, swordmanship, and knifework. this is why he is the only favonius knight that does not have the name " favonius " in his normal attack skill. because kaeya learned how to fight from other abyssals and khaenri'ahns.           ⟡     however, kaeya built up an intentional reputation for being meek and docile, and tried to avoid fighting whenever possible growing up. it was only his prerogative to assimilate himself into mondstadt that stopped him multiple times from administering lethal blows when involved with scuffles and spars, mostly with other kids.

kayali alberich was born in the ruins of khaenri'ah, deep, deep within the depths of the abyssal domains. he was born to a khaenri'ahn sumeri mother, kala, and a khaenri'ahn snezhnayan father, andvari, the carrier of alberich blood.

the gift of abyssal sentience, given by the contained sinner vedrfolnir, was absorbed by the religious zealot chlothar, and passed down through the alberich bloodline. the sentience would then use their bloodline and spearhead attempts to bring about celestia's ruin through the founding of the abyss order. influenced by vedrfolnir, chlothar sacrificed his own son caribert as the sacrifice for the loom of fate, in exchange for a chance to reweave destiny. over many generations, the sentience which granted chlothar a final reprieve from humanity would be renamed the heart of the abyss.

chlothar conceived more children with abyssals, passing down the heart of the abyss as well as his alberich blood. each new generation of children acting as fail safes to be sacrificed to the loom of fate. otherwise, alberich children were often raised to become the right hands of the abyss prince / princess. this liasion was often overseen by pierro, who travelled with the abyss prince / princess for some time. pierro has been noted to keep an eye on alberich heirs, keeping them safe, keeping them away from celestia's gaze.

kaeya, similarly, would have also been raised as the abyss sibling's right hand, just like his father before him, if he had not been born prior to the traveller's prophesied awakening. and so, tasked with being one of the first points of contact with the awakened traveller, and preparing for his role as a khaenri'ahn spy kaeya was raised from an incredibly tender age a proficiency in combat, language, and espionage.

after his eighth year, guided out of the domains by both pierro and his father, he was planted in mondstadt. pierro left them with their bargaining chip, a prototype delusion, and were subsequently attacked by domain keepers while passing dorman port. bleeding out and in critical shape, kaeya's father left the struggling boy at a nearby shed to weather out the storm, leaving him with those last haunting words.

𝐍𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍.

this is a low activity blog for   𝐊𝐀𝐄𝐘𝐀   𝐀𝐋𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐇   from   𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍   𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐓. sometimes my portrayal might extend to other guest muses, ie. pierro, caribert, chlothar, though kaeya will remain my primary focus. due to my writing speed, schedule, and overall motivation, i will only be interacting with mutuals. elements of kaeya's portrayal could take into account unreleased content   (   leaks   )   thus viewer discretion is advised.

this blog is   proship   /   profiction   /   anti-censorship.   i've written a more detailed post on why here. but to summarise, while i do not write, create, or seek out taboo content, i believe in the literary freedoms of creators that do, even if it is content that would personally make me highly uncomfortable. i'm a large endorser of curating one's internet space and blocking, tagging, and scrolling past without engaging in content i personally dislike. that being said, i will not be coerced into writing content that makes me uncomfortable, or try to push taboo topics onto other people !

𝐆𝐎𝐃𝐌𝐎𝐃𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆.

i am not super strict on certain aspects of godmodding or metagaming, as long as you intend to do so with the idea of open communication. i am open to the idea of characters getting aspects of someone else's story wrong in character, for muses to have to correct themselves and grow from an assumption or action. i am open to the idea of godmodding by setting scenes, interjecting aspects of a story to push the plot along, and of course, making assumptions about my own character is fine. assumed dynamics are also fine when plotted   (   as long as you are open to the idea of fine - tuning this when talking out of character.   )   repeatedly changing aspects of my character and what he is doing without warning will result in a dropped thread.

𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆.

while shipping is something that i enjoy very much, over the course of writing kaeya, i've found it very difficult. i adore all kinds of dynamics, and though kaeya is capable of many a friendly acquaintanceship, striving for a deeper connection often requires chemistry. regarding romantic shipping, even if kaeya might show interest, without prior discussion between writers, he will not pursue. kaeya isn't someone who is easily courted, even once we've agreed to ship, kaeya is not without his own self-sabotaging tendencies. please be mindful of this if you do want to pursue that route.

𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐒.

mains are something i would love to establish over a while, with lots of writing, plotting, and time to shape dynamics. i love it when specific portrayals influence the way i write my muses. while i tend to gravitate towards one particular portrayal of a character, i don't rule out the chance to find more dynamics in other characterisations   -   given enough time and effort is put into the bond   (   ie.   kaeya might have two main albedos, or two main jeans.   )   that being said, i don't do exclusivity at all. i am always willing to write more platonic, familial, and antagonistic dynamics are never an impossibility.
