Sunday, July 12th: Hello, everyone. I’m Gem, a bi, mentally ill, and multiple disabled woman in desperate need of help, as I'm struggling to pay my bills this month!!
I apologise for asking for help again. As most of you know from my previous posts, I have been struggling to make ends meet while on welfare. And due to my outstanding bills and ever-increasing debt, it has been difficult for me to get by. These past few months have been absolute hell, and with no other income, I've been relying on the kindness of others to get by.
However, I desperately need that kindness again, as I wasn't able to pay my bills last month because I was behind on my rent, and I've been trying to keep my sister afloat during her benefit sanctions. I'm struggling quite a lot to pay them now. I owe a total of £58.59 in bill payments and fees, which is due before I receive my welfare, which I don't receive until the 31st!! My electricity is running out as well!!
Again, I know this is a lot to ask, but if anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would mean a lot, and sharing helps just as much.

Im gonna talk about climate change and the europe heatwave again, but specifically the non-european, largely american, saying that to deal with the heat we should all just get a/c and its just. SUCH an individualistic mindset and it pisses me the fuck off. Theyre seeing short term solutions and not seeing the bigger picture.
This is a major fucking crisis. People are dying, those without pre-existing conditions or age related vulnerability to the heat, transport systems are collapsing, schools are havjng to close early because its dangerous for the kids. MY FRIEND HAD TO PUT THEIR GLASSES IN THE FRIDGE BC THEY WERE MELTING. And the government doesnt give a fuck, people are bitching saying its nothing like 1976, saying we’redramatic, and then we get fucking americans who have never been on this island, never experienced a maritime climate, especially one experiencing this many climate extremes (it wasnt reaching 20c two weeks ago, and now we are in the 30s)
And we get online and americans are also telling us to shut the fuck up, calling us europoors, completely lacking understanding of what europe is like that makes a/c inaccessible to many, and these fucking arguments online are drawing attention away from the real fucking issue: that the climate is warming at an life threatening rate and action needs to be taken.
It puts the conversation into a “europeans are stupid and poor”, which is dangerous. And it ignores that getting a/c wont solve tge hot weather. It wont help all the people who work outside and are at risk of heatstroke. It doesnt help the transport systems that can’t function. It doesnt help the millions of people in poverty, especially those who are homeless. It doesnt help the farms and food industries that will collapse if action isnt taken. Its why so many europeans are fucking pissed when theyre told to just get an a/c unit.
There are so many more, but arguing over a/c is the worst thing you can do. This ignorance over what other people are suffering from is just helping climate denialists. Reducing a global issue to something that requires personal actions, acceptance in some way, feels so fucking insensitive.
