Inspo from Mother 3? Haven't heard anything about it. Wouldn't surprise me considering how influencial this series was for the RPG genre, especially in Japan.

sadly it is veeery likely Meikai. It's always been him whenever this special middle-of-the-screen blue textbook appears. Also, the voice uses 君 (kimi) as second person pronoun. A polite woman like Namikaze would not use that, and Sal prefers his kimis in katakana.

That's correct! Whether it was truly the sea's fault that she killed herself or just a delirium of Sal, we'll never know.

If Samekichi hates it too, it might be true. Or his hatred comes from what the sea turned Sal into instead.

Mannn where do I even begin? I have way too many nice things to say about this game.

First off, I reaaally like stories that have multiple side stories in them, and stories where you find out later you were missing a lot of background and you're almost playing a sequel story to previous events. Wadanohara is about, well, Wadanohara, but it could have been about many other characters in her tale with interesting lives to tell, like her familiars! Or characters from the past, from the time when King Aounabara ruled instead of Princess Uomi. Meikai prequel anyone...?

And I love how the story being Wadanohara's story is actually frustrating sometimes, because the most interesting lore is found in characters who do not wanna share anything about their past to her, so by extension we don't get to know it either. Best example is Samekichi knowing Sal's tragic backstory the entire time while Wadda has no idea. Sal obviously doesn't tell her, so we only get to find out when we switch to his POV in the manga/Reboot.

It highlights what I said before, that others around her are people who have lived their own lives, and she isn't entitled to know Everything about Everyone for being the protagonist.

Also! I love how it makes you conflicted about the Sea of Death by showing you the suffering of Mikotsu and the two kids. Like, damn, maybe the bad guys are just the bad guys because you're only hearing the events from the side that hates them and demonizes them. No one wants to accept they're agreeing with Sal's ideology by sympathizing with Mikotsu, but they are. There's shades of gray in this conflict, even if the history books of both seas would only talk about black and white to hate on each other. I always appreciate some good villain humanization.

Dislike I don't really dislike anything! There's some stuff I would have written better, but it'd be for personal preferences + to help the media illiterate community be more literate rather than because there's any actual bad writing. (There isn't, you can fight me on this.)

Okay this is a flaming burning hot take but I honestly do not give a single damn about Chlomaki.

She's nice, don't get me wrong! I like her role of friendly guardian with Wadda as a fellow witch, but she has a severe case of main character syndrome with how often she shows up everywhere. As an outsider to the Sea Kingdom she has no ties to the majority of the characters and she is not relevant in the main conflict at all, so why is she here! Leave the fish alone girl!

I've personally seen enough of her. Hope she's having fun with her crocodile boyfriend though!
