Hey you guys, I think you should hire Cricket.
Yes, I am hyping up one of my best friends but listen. Listen. There's a reason why I kept hiring them to the point that people started assuming that I was actually Cricket (and not my own, distinct person) because their art was featured so heavily on my blogs and was the starting images of all my OCs that it just naturally looked like I was Cricket but under a pseudo name. And it's because they're just that good. Working with them is a phenomenal experience.
I will never forget how ecstatic I was when they managed to take a single reference image and some basic description lines I submitted, and turned it all into one of the most beautiful OCs I have to date. Like, sincerely, I gave them less than bare bones, and they pulled off a miracle. So, I kept coming back, again and again, because they're worth it. They're that good.
If you want more examples of their work, then here are some of my commissions (and gifts!!!!!!) from Cricket, to give you an idea of what their style can be like. I'd upload everything, but then we'd be here all day and ain't nobody got time for that.

"...I don't think we're going to figure a good solution for this tonight either. A fresh mind tomorrow will do us good." Anon sighed, blowing a vent as he leaned back in a chair. Figuring out logistics is a nightmare sometimes- espescially when travelroutes for merchants get blocked off by accidents, wormholes- or worse, pirates. When one path was rerouted, more popped up with different issues-just. Best to set it down and come back to it later. "Let's.. let's do something fun- something different than work, if you're up for it?"
"My thoughts exactly." Hence why Redstrike had spoken up for a break to begin with - although it was nice to see Anon pick up on his point right away and agree with it. He didn't really like arguing for some down time, so it was a relief to be met with cooperation instead of disagreement.
To the idea of cutting loose, however, he tilted his helm curiously and quirked an optical ridge at the other mech. "That depends. What did you have in mind for us?"
"You know..." A dangerous grin blooms across the dark plating of Redstrike's features.

"I like the way you think, human. Because if it's done just right, I could fault the owners for negligence in caring for the crack too, and thus avoid suspicion for sabotaging the piece. Or, realistically, just sell one extremely overpriced item and let the rest be. That way there's only one stray fluke to my name, amongst hundreds if not thousands of other, legitimate, successful creations."
"Always happy to help obliterate a rich person's hopes and dreams of owning something to lord over others. Especially if it helps average joes make bank."
Redstrike hums while the grin on his face only widens. "I like the way you think. We could have used more people like you back in the day."
Redstrike snorts and cracks an amused grin at the remark. "A dime in dozen remark, but the higher caste would probably still eat it up if it's done right. They always loved flaunting wealth through art. But it has to be structurally sound cracking, or else the whole thing could break."
"On the contrary! The real game is cracking it so it's a ticking time bomb. You take the money and run and wait to hear on the news about some billionaire whose expensive art statement shattered into tiny shards on their equally expensive carpet."

"Thank you." Redstrike makes a pleased hum, warmed by the compliment and just barely registering the tiny hands against his own. There's hardly enough weight behind them for their pressure to matter much, and Redstrike had long since abandoned his xenophobia thanks to exposure therapy and rethinking attributes of his life.
They do, however, give him the slight impression that he should tilt his hand towards Judas to offer a better view of his work. "Had to go through three stalks before getting this thing to turn out right. The rock kept cracking and splintering on me, which ruined the mage and my work on it."
"Huh. Never done art stuff before but I've seen it. Didn't even think that sculptures could crack and fucking the whole thing up." He gave it some thought. "Think I'd keep it with the cracks if I ruined something then play it off as artistic choice." His hands went up over his head, spreading apart to pantomime a banner being put up, "The inner damage behind beauty. Or something like that. Bet I'd make a mint off it."

"Here." Carefully, Redstrike extends his hand out toward Judas while he holds the crystal - a californite, by the looks of it - out for viewing. The californite fits neatly within his palm, and thus easily dwarves most humans through its size alone; nevermind the weight. Redstrike holds it as though it were hardly more than a pebble, yet treats it as delicately as glass since he had whittled it down into the shape of a bird-like creature. "It isn't much, but..." He shrugs and a small, almost missable smile spreads across his features. "It keeps me busy whenever I find myself idling."
The moment it's low enough for him to get a solid look at, Judas gasps in delight. Any teasing he had locked and loaded falls to the wayside. It is, of course, much larger than the sort of small pocket carvings humans have. More like a full on statue.
"That's awesome!" Not that Judas has to be particularly careful about it- it's more likely to damage him than the other way around- yet he's still cautious about getting too close, and he doesn't touch the carving. It does have the added effect of showing that Judas isn't afraid of getting close to Redstrike though, resting his own hands on the mech's palm.

"Perhaps." He tilts his head and narrows his optics, staring down at Judas rather critically. One could even argue the human was being scrutinized. "On the sole condition you never address me as anything Turbo-related ever again."
Judas smiles wider. It makes the creases in the corners of his eyes deeper and is the first sign that the next words out of his mouth are unlikely to be true, "Wouldn't dream of it!"

"Whenever I get the chance, I like to garden and carve down crystals. It isn't much, and it can be slow, but it is very relaxing to me."
Maybe he ought to ease up on the poor guy, but would Judas really be Judas if he didn't give potential friends a hard time. They had to know what they were getting into after all.
Then Judas' face lights up without any hint of mischief. "You carve rocks? Can I see?"

None of it puts a dent in Judas' cheerful disposition. "Sounds like it's a good thing I came along then, eh? You're a hell of a lot more chill than the few 'Cons I've seen. What do you even do for fun?" ... "You know what fun is, yea?"

"Aw." Well now he's disappointed. "Means I gotta try harder then! But hey, you picked up on it pretty quick so I must be doing something right. So are you gonna share anything about yourself or do I have to continue relying on my not-telekinesis?"

Anyway, your name is Turbo Charge and you've been thinking about how damn cool it is you finally get to met me this whole time."

"That's me~ My reputation precedes me, I see." Judas tilts his head and takes in everything he can about the mech hunkering over him. "Twenty bucks says I can guess your name."

"Oh?" He trills with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. "You're that familiar with Cybertronian naming conventions now? Or did Blackguard just tell you who I am already?"
"Cute, cute." The mech hums as he props his below against his knee, then his chin against his hand. One could take it for a thoughtful pose, if it weren't for the sassy little grin on his face. "Do you always carry a visor around for sassing off?"
"I know I am~"
"Yea, actually! Comes in handy for moments like this. Gotta be prepared for anything, including dumb bits. Especially dumb bits. You got a name, bud?"
"I do." Now whether or not he shares it is another thing entirely...
