Childrenās Crusade
Ā Ā Ā Midnighter had a handful of bloody bullets by the time they pulled up, rolling the little metal bastards around in his palm. Jason might have passed over the handgun, but Midnighter just sneered at it and shoved the firearm back into Jasonās grip before plucking his knife up again where it rested on his thigh after being used as a casual surgical tool. He threw the knife expertly, and for lack of a better work, completely ruined the camera, leaving exposed pieces of tech looking sad and broken and a knife embedded where there used to be a camera.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Midnighter grinned with a flash of teeth at Jason.
Ā Ā Ā āSave your ammo for a rainy day,ā he said.
Jason scoffed, trying to down play how impressed he was. Ā He took the gun back and holstered it. āThat knife was probably more expensive than a single bullet,ā he pointed out as he opened the door and slipped out. Ā The kids in the back were scared, but the priest coaxed them out with promises of safety. Ā
The broken cam had alerted the security guard on duty, and it wasnāt long before he was walking briskly down the path towards the street, looking suspicious. Ā āWhat are you doing?ā he asked Jason as the Father urged the children up beyond the gates and into the embassyās grounds.Ā
āThese kids were kidnapped for human trafficking purposes. Ā Youāre going to want to get them inside safely, then call your bosses, and probably the police too,ā with that Jason turned and headed back for the truck. Ā The guard ordered him to stop, and even pulled out his hand gun and pointed it at the priestās back, but Jason didnāt pause.
