Slightly extended version of the love confession scene in clerks 2 because oh my gosh that one piece of extra dialogue hits so hard. ‘I honestly don’t know if I could make it in this world without you’ !!? He’s sooooo codependent and pathetic it’s actually so so cute oh my gosh . And the little extra bit at the end of Dante nodding all sweet like with his big glassy eyes oh my GOD. gnawing on the bars of my enclosure.

Also I like the way Randal is described in the script.

As well as the little overview of Clerks written for the Sundance festival, where there is a bit that states ‘But this bunch of lonely, horny folk also have a sweetness about them. Like everybody else, they’re lookin' for love — or some human contact, at least— and the yearning just beneath their foul-mouthed way-coolness is touching.’ Hmm. I wonder what foul-mouthed, way-cool character in clerks could possibly be yearning.🤔

Early mornings when Randal’s sarcasm hasn’t fully loaded yet so he’s just all cute and sleepy. Maybe Dante gets called into work on his day off and he tries to wake Randal but he’s just like “nnoooooo, tell them to go fuck themselves and come back to bed.” and paws lazily at Dante. This is one of the only scenarios where Dante allows himself to actually call out.

Randal wearing Dante’s sweater oughhhh. And he finds himself sniffing it through the day because it just smells so much like Dante. Before they started dating, Randal borrowed one of Dante’s sweaters and just… never gave it back. Straight up gaslighting Dante that ‘oh you must have lost it or something’ when he knows damn well it’s folded neatly underneath his pillow.

Randal falling asleep on Dante’s shoulder while they’re watching a movie late at night and Dante just kind of freezes. Eventually he falls asleep too (and proceeds to complain about how his back hurts for the entire next day.)

Dante attempting to cook dinner for both of them but they get so engrossed in one of Randal’s weird hypotheticals that the food burns. They both blame each other but end up ordering takeout.

Arguing over which movie to watch for like an hour.

This is based on the running joke (that i really don’t like) in the two comics post clerks 3 and a bit in the actual movie that Jay and Silent Bob don’t really remember Dante or think he moved away to Florida. I put those comic panels that inspired this under the cut along with fun statistics about the making of this comic.
