FRIEND ? // FOE ?

Hours seemed to pass by fast, Harry losing track of time. He glances down to the watch around his wrist to see that it’s also past his son’s bedtime. The boy seems to be absolutely thrilled about being up late, especially since it meant getting to play with all of Felicia’s cats again. It’s a sweet sight and ever since they got their own? All the adoration for cats just kept growing in Normie. He’ll be talking soon about introducing Pickle to them. What could go wrong with that? Their lives are starting to intertwine and Harry doesn’t mind. Maybe it’s because he does have a crush on her. The word brings forth a feeling that hasn’t been felt in years. He can’t pour all his energy into work and maybe pursuing this will be good for him.

He smiles looking over at Felicia from his spot on the couch. “You really wouldn’t mind if we stayed the night? I can make us all breakfast in the morning as my way of saying thank you. He’s going to crash soon anyway. He should have been in bed an hour ago but sometimes it’s worth it letting him stay up. They really have taken to him, huh? The cats?” He says gesturing to them all playing on the floor. His eyes stay focused on the other, sliding in a little closer. “Besides I’d like getting to spend more time with you.”

Frankie grimaced. “Heat it up on the stove top, my dude. Microwaves are a real bummer.” At least there was someone in this weird ass city who didn’t look at her like she was insane; that was a relief.

If she insisted - Frankie urged herself a little closer and settled down onto the ledge with her. The city skyline with the sky in the background, especially at this hour - breathtaking. She found herself smiling at the view. “Wow, no way. What’s New York like? Is it as glamorous as they say?”

she didn’t know what to feel right now. her head was full with different things ; thoughts, feelings, worries. arms moved around her knees as she sat on the coach, watching normie play with her cats. it was always a good sign when the cats got along with other people, especially men. they turned into big kittens around normie, that made her more than happy to see. they had always been over protective of her even more so when she moved. the bruise on her side ached every time she moved, she couldn’t keep saying she tripped into a table for too long. people got curious especially if they were both around more often. she did want that.

The bite that had initially risen waned away to something softer, to something more understanding. It didn’t make her want to run from the rooftop; it was the nearest one she could find with a direct access to the roof, without having to scale the walls. Frankie thought that it could be a decent place to think and maybe get her bearings. Not once did she think she’d be intruding on someone else’s time.

Frankie wound her hands together, nervously, but her smile grew at the introduction, prompting her to take those few steps closer towards the ledge. “Cold coffee’s the worst,” she returned with a small laugh. “I’m Frankie and I’m.. kind of new here, I guess?” She punctuated the question with another nervous laugh and a shrug; her long blond hair hung in wispy strands that framed her sallow face. “I’m from Cali just not… from this time. If that makes any sense.”

rich boy: if they all have mythos names and one doesn’t that would just make them the odd one out. It wouldn’t be fair would it? it’s a good theme you have going on. does this mean you’re fond of greek mythology then?

rich boy: i’m the ceo of a multi-billion dollar company … which keeps me busy but nothing i can’t handle. i also make gadgets in my spare time. maybe sometime you’ll tell me what you do for work though? and i can show you around my lab? if you’re into that kind of thing.

rich boy: he does! he looks forward to seeing you again. you made a great first impression.

Hanging out on rooftops was something Remy only did occasionally, usually after pulling off a heist or, as in this instance, avoiding some sore losers that he had beat in a poker game. They, obviously, would be much too busy looking for him down on street level. So he took a moment to pause and enjoy the air–until he realized he was not alone on the roof. A woman was sitting on the edge, hanging her legs off as casually as if she was sitting in a chair. Remy raised his eyebrows. She definitely caught his interest.

Quietly he came closer, unable to keep from flashing her a smug smile when she said he had snuck up on her. “Ah pardon. Wasn’t meanin’ t’ startle you, chere. I jus’ can’t help wonderin’ what a nice lady like you’s doin’ up here. I mean, it ain’t exactly de best place t’ hang out, non?” He was only hanging out up there out of necessity, after all. It definitely would not have been his first choice.
