Maybe it’s naïve to say it aloud but I hold fast to the way the clock ticks and toks slower for us and maybe I talk over myself and my thoughts run on and on but last week we saw the moonrise and I haven’t yet torn my mind away from that. I used to dig my feet in the sand hoping I could be just as stable as you needed me to be but storms stop for no one. Last night we watched the sunset and the way your hands slipped between mine burned the tops of my ears and my mind and my mouth rushed to tell you all the things I’ve thought since I can remember thinking about you. I found comfort in knowing I don’t have to ask where you see me. I know I know how I feel and I know you believe me.
