“Well  clearly  your  deepest,   darkest  secret  is  boring  and  you  need  to  get  a  new  one.   Mmmm,   so  you’re  only  giving  me  boring  information.   When  are  you  going  to  talk  to  me  about  the  last  person  you  murdered?” 

          “Hush.  I’m  trying  to  play  it  cool  so  that  I  can  get  the  senior  citizen  discount.” 

          “Do  you  think  if  I  write  an  anonymous  story  in  the  opinion  section  about  the  mayor  in  the  paper  that  I  can  stir  up  trouble  and  uncover  something  interesting?   Or  is  that  just  asking  to  get  fired?” 

          “I  really  have  not  been  listening  to  a  thing  you’ve  been  saying,”   he  mumbled  at  his  friend,   ignoring  the  urge  to  roll  his  eyes. 

          “Sure,   but  I  can  do  that  anywhere.” 

          “Uh...   you  know.   He  was  one  of  those  men  fuckers.” 

          “Yeah,  it  was  totally  one  of  those  middle  schoolers.   You  can’t  arrest  me   when  you  have  no  proof.”   She  gave  her  best  innocent  look.   Finally  the  cop  was  out  of  earshot  and  not  paying  attention  to  her  anymore,   following  the  thread  about  the  middle  schoolers,   she  stashed  the  spray  cans  in  her  backpack.   “Thanks.   It’s  not  bad.” 

          “Yeah  okay,   I  believe  that,”   Eileen  laughs  at  the  guy.   “Can  you  believe  it?   He’s  apparently  a  movie  star.” 

          “She’s  two.   And  I  trained  her  in  Russian,   so  she  doesn’t  understand  American  commands.”   Gleb  looks  down  at  his  dog. 

          She  liked  and  disliked  being  newer  to  a  town  than  other  people.   “Is  there  actually  anything  interesting  to  do  around  here  that’s  not  staring  at  people?” 

          “I  can’t  believe  someone  spray  painted  RUSSIAN SLUT  on  my  car.” 

          “Is  it  weird  that  I  like  romance  novels?   I  just  like  seeing  novels  with  happy  endings.” 

          “Can  you  help  me  take  some  photos  for  a  dating  profile?” 

          “I  apparently,   according  to  you,   have  no  thoughts,   so  those  that  I  don’t  have  would  not  be  in  Russian  because  they  don’t  exist.”   Gleb  looks  at  her  and  rolls  his  eyes.   “No,   I  don’t  think  in  Russian.” 

          Henry  has  a  stack  of  books  in  his  own  bag,   but  he  doesn’t  take  them  out  just  yet.   “Isn’t  Oscar  Wilde  a  little  fruity?”   he  asks  as  if  he  doesn’t  know  the  answer  to  his  own  question.   

          He’s  one  of  those  people  that  makes  sarcastic  jokes.   He  wasn’t  really  joking  right  now  though.   Gleb  thought  out  of  everyone  he  knew,   Emma  was  one  of  his  favorite  people  to  talk  to  and  he  would  destroy  records  at  the  IRS  for  her.   “That’s  just  gay  justice,   if  I’m  being  honest.”    As  much  as  he  wanted  to  take  the  IRS  down,   he  couldn’t  even  take  his  father  down,   so  he  shouldn’t  even  try.   “Fuck  Batman,   am  I  right?   I’d  have  to  come  up  with  a  proper  superhero  name.”   Gleb  laughed.   “I  think  that’s  just  male  dogs  in  general.   My  pup  doesn’t  like  male  dogs.   She’s  a  lesbian  clearly.   I  can  tell  these  things.   I  have  a  proper  gaydar.”   He  didn’t.   “I  like  the  culture  and  arts  stuff  I  think.   It’s  much  more  interesting  to  me  than  hard  hitting  stories  about  who’s  screwing  who  and  the  drug  rings  around  town.   I  don’t  really  know  what  I  want  to  do.” 

          “Privet,”   he  shouts  at  his  dog,   who  was  running  up  to  some  random  kid  at  a  park.   “Leave  them  alone.   Sorry.”
