Yoongi's hand tracing shapes into Jimin's thigh did nothing to calm his nerves or keep the limb from bouncing obnoxiously against the restaurant floor. They were the only ones there, having made sure to show up early to get their table and get everything prepared. Jimin felt sick, in a good way. Hoseok and Jungkook have wanted this studio since as long as he's known them, and finally being able to give it to them was a feeling he couldn't describe. Jimin took a sharp intake of breath as Namjoon and Jin slowly made their way to the table. "We're here. No need to be skinned alive." Jin said with a laugh, greeting the two of them with a hug, if they noticed how nervous Jimin was, they didn't comment on it and instead sat down. Hoseok came next. Just the sight of him nearly made Jimin burst into tears, but composed himself as Jungkook and Taehyung came in soon after. Jimin felt sicker than before as everyone hugged each other as a greeting and slowly sat down. "I thought we might talk for a bit, but Jimin's already about to explode, so I guess we'll have to do this before the appetizers." Yoongi chuckled softly, and everyone pretended not to notice how Jimin was vibrating in his seat. Yoongi sent him a glance before lifting his bag off the floor and setting it in his lap. Jimin almost wanted to yell at him to hurry up, but composed himself as he watched Yoongi pull out a black satin bag. Taehyung first.
"I should probably say something first." The rapper laughed softly, setting the bag on the table as the others all looked at him through confused gazes. "I've been thinking a lot lately, even speaking with specialists, which is the fancy word for therapists, but umm..." Yoongi cleared his throat, keeping his gaze down as everyone watched him intently. Jimin calmed down and grabbed Yoongi's hand, holding it reassuringly as the older sighed. "You all met me when I wasn't at my best. And I hold a lot of personal resentment and guilt towards that, but, you didn't leave. You stuck around through it all and dealt with my episodes and panic attacks without judgement, and you listened to me rant about stupid relationships and screaming and beer bottles..." Jimin squeezed Yoongi's hand again.
"I know you guys will kick my ass if I said this was a way to pay you back for being my friends, so instead, I'm saying this is a way to show you how grateful I am, because having you guys in my life has changed me, for the better, and I couldn't ask for better people to be surrounded by. I owe you all, mentally or physically, just for putting up with my annoying ass. But this isn't me paying a debt, this is me thanking you for showing me how to love someone. Romantic or platonic, you all played a big part." Yoongi finally sighed, shaking his head as he finally looked up, he was met with soft eyes and warm smiles. "Tae, you're first I guess." He laughed softly, lifting the box and handing it to the boy who looked at him with curious eyes. "You're not going to get any answers without opening it." Yoongi chuckled softly, and an encouraging nudge from Jungkook had his pulling off the satin cover, revealing a black box.
Taehyung's eyebrows were still furrowed as he carefully opened the box, his eyes widening when he saw the camera sitting inside, one glance had him setting the box on the table and holding his head in his hands. "No." Was all he replied, closing it back up hastily. "This thing is thousands of dollars. No." He shook his head, not looking up as he struggled to shove it back into the bag, giving in as Jungkook delicately took it from him as carefully set it back down, and Taehyung finally looked up at Yoongi. "Fuck you and your dramatic ass. I love you, and if I didn't I wouldn't of put up with your shit. But you put up with my shit too. This isn't a one sided street, you're my best friend, and you're insane if you think I'm taking this from you." He huffed, despite the half of him begging to take the camera back out and admire it, he couldn't accept something like this from Yoongi. The older only smiled calmly.
"Why not? Otherwise it's just going to sit in my studio and collect dust." He smirked when Taehyung took a sharp intake of breath at the mention of such a valuable item sitting and getting ruined. "Take it Tae, I love you too." Yoongi smiled, and Tae shook his head, taking the box back in his hands as he carefully twirled it around in his fingers. A minute of silent passed, and when he looked back up at Yoongi he had tears in his eyes. "How did you even know where to find this?" Taehyung laughed softly, wiping at his eyes before any tears could fall. "I spoke with an expert. They did all the hard stuff, I just had to sign a check." Yoongi grinned. Taehyung shook his head, a weak laugh passing his lips as he set the thing back down on the table carefully. "I hate you." He laughed softly, and Yoongi grinned his gummy smile.
"Namjoon and Seokjin." He finally said, turning to face the two as Taehyung began to admire the camera. "Jesus I don't even know what to say to you two." He laughed softly, watching the couple mirror the action. "You don't owe us-" "shut up." Yoongi interrupted Namjoon, already digging in his bag again as the two watched him with curious eyes as he pulled out an envelope. "You two were my therapists when I was convinced there was nothing wrong with me. Thank you for listening to me ranting about my shit and giving me the best advice. If I didn't have your relationship to see, I probably never would've trusted myself with Jimin. We're here because of you." He said softly, smiling as Jin opened the envelope and pulled out a check, nearly choking as he saw it. "Yoongi what the fuck?" Namjoon whispered. "A fall wedding." Yoongi smiled again. Unfazed as Jin ripped the check up.
"No. We're not letting you-" "I already sent a check to your brother. Since he's the maid of honor in this situation, he's already planning everything. I knew you would rip this one up, it was just to show you." Yoongi grinned, Namjoon and Jin were speechless, staring at him dumbfounded as he turned in his seat again.
"Jungkook, Hoseok." His voice was softer. Both boys seemed surprised by hearing their names, turning to face him with startled expressions. "I know we're not the best of friends. But Jimin loves you guys, and you were there for him when I failed to be. Thank you for taking care of him then, and thank you for trusting me to take care of him now." Yoongi slid a piece of paper to them, both looking at it through curious eyes. It looked to be a printed photo of an empty building, nothing special to it. Other than the key taped to the right corner, and Jimin's colorful writing having drawn 'Hope World!' On the front. Both boys were silent. Staring at the picture until Jimin saw tears start falling from Hoseok's eyes.
He covered his face with his hands, Jungkook was still in shock, unaware of the tears beginning to fall as he looked between the photo and Yoongi in shock. Jimin got up, hugging Hoseok tightly as he cried, it finally seemed to register for Jungkook as he joined their hug, the three of them crying in each other's arms as Yoongi smiled warmly.
A few minutes passed before they finally pulled away, sniffling, red and blotchy as Jimin whispered something that made the three of them laugh weakly. "It's in my name right now, but I have the contract to sign it over whenever you're ready, it'll be put under your names, and you can start whenever you'd like." Yoongi smiled warmly as Hoseok looked at him, a thousand emotions behind his eyes as he shook his head. "Why?" Was all he could ask, sniffling as Yoongi took a deep breath. "I regret what I've done. The way I've hurt Jimin, hurt you. As much as I hate that Jimin saw that side of me, I wouldn't be who I am now without him. He showed me love was worth the pain. And you helped him when I was trying to figure myself out. I never meant to hurt him, and it haunts me everyday knowing I did. I'm not perfect, but I'm better. A lot better, and I want better for him, for me. And you're the ones that helped show me that. Helped show me that Jimin was fine without me, and I don't ever want to see him fine without me again, but it's comforting knowing he has that option, with you two. His happiness is my happiness, and that means you two, and your happiness. He told me, about not having white picket fences and unlimited money. I know what that's like. So I'm getting behind the dream of giving kids an opportunity their parents can't give them." Yoongi said. Hoseok swallowed thickly, looking back down at the paper, speechless as he shook his head. He stood up slowly, Jungkook following in suit. They walked around the table until they were in front of Yoongi, who now stood up as well.
Hoseok stuck his hand out, and Yoongi shook it. Surprised when he pulled him in for a hug, Yoongi smiled and hugged him back, laughing as Jungkook hugged the both of them, and it felt nice, knowing he had finally done right by them.
When they finally sat back down, Yoongi stayed standing, sighing softly. "And last, but certainly not least." He spun Jimin around softly. The boys eyes looked up at him with confusion as Yoongi smiled and reached into his back pocket. "Yoongi no." Jimin gasped, "don't you dare, fuck I'm crying." Yoongi laughed as he got on one knee, earning gasps from the table as they all watched through their own teary eyes. "Are you kidding me?" Jimin whispered, hiding his face in his hands as Yoongi opened a small box, exposing a shining ring as Jimin cried harder. "Forever?" He whispered, tears of his own shining against his pale skin as Jimin choked on a sob. "A-And ever more..." He cried, nodding his head as Yoongi grinned, pulling him to his feet and kissing him deeply. The restaurant, including their table began cheering as Yoongi slid the ring on Jimin's finger, smiling as he sobbed against his lips. "So..." Yoongi whispered once they finally pulled away from the kiss. "No strings attached? Ow shit okay I'm sorry it's a joke." He laughed, rubbing his arm where Jimin had punched him.
"I hate you." Jimin cried, wiping at his eyes hastily. "You love me." Yoongi grinned. "Yes I do." Jimin whispered, pulling him into another kiss, and it was perfect. Everything either of them could ever want was in their arms. Forever and ever more, all strings attached.
