I have lost some faith in humanity. I made a facebook post about it, and unless you read recast confessions, a lot of people wouldn’t even know about this.
There is a company i absolutely love and adore. They work so hard, and they constantly interact with us: their customers and fanbase. They’re funny, quirky, and their services provide top notch dolls for so many doll companies and first-time artists! They are a blessing to the bjd community, they really are. I am beyond honoured to own a doll from them (well, the head, but y’know.)
So far, this company has only made 2 original dolls, both of which are modeled after a loved one.
Someone sent one to be recasted.
I honestly cried when i read about it. It made me sick, and it shocked me to know that someone would go to this length to do such harm to such a wonderful, SMALL, charming company.
I honestly hope that somehow, things get resolved like it did with a company in the past. And i also hope that the person who sent this doll to be recasted gets what they deserve.
The fuck?! Someone actually went trough with it? I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but this is sickening.
Seeing as various pro-artist owners got one of those dolls, I can’t say I’m surprised. Sickened and shocked, yes, but surprised? Time after time they prove us there is no limit to recasting, not even the sculpted image of an artist’s son. This is a final spit in the face of every legit owner in the hobby. Recasters’ arrogance and greed know no boundaries, that’s very clear now, but what sickens me most is that their supply comes from recast owners. Seemingly regular doll owners like you and me.
Recast owners following me for whatever reason, the money your spend on your Big Company Recast has directly funded this. It’s not too late to stop giving money to those greedy people. Recasting will only stop if you all stop buying. Just keep whatever recast you have now, just please stop funding this.
This is so sickening.. To those of you who are pro- artist, or have gone pro-artist.

Realize that by doing this you really could be shuttering a new sculpting company that really is a single artist operation before it even starts.
If it really has been sent off already you can stop further damage by NOT PURCHASING THE RECAST. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t let a single recast come of this. Don’t crush future chances for more amazing sculpts coming from this company.
