Do you have minds who are opposites of each other? If yes, who and how are they opposites?

Thank you so much for your answer, it really helped me figure out my identity much better. I've come to realize that, I truly have just been getting a lot of kinshifts recently to the point it felt like there was multiple personalitys there. I do definitely have different personalities, but I don't think this term is for me. Thank you for helping me out, and also I learnt so much about the polyminded community! My partner is a polymind, and all the research I did for this really helped me understand them more.

I was mainly introduced to the idea of polymindence through the official carrd (assuming/hoping its reputable). I got the idea from the phrasing it was something people choose by just giving their different states of being names nd stuff. (Eg: I might feel very strongly connected to, or like a certian character sometimes, so I'd start calling myself their name when I'm in that state, and letting myself act a bit more like them maybe?)

But I keep seeing people talk about discovering they're polymind, do you know if there's just a slightly diffrent definition the community prefers? or if I've just really misunderstood this :p (or smth else!!)

Polymindence is both involuntary and voluntary! Most polyminds I have seen didn't choose to be a polymind, but instead discovered they were one. while others chose to be a polymind, or even is a polymind to cope!

I myself didn't choose to be a polymind, I found out I was one because of a friend (≧◡≦)

I am alterhuman, more specifically fictionkin, otherlink and musickin. I have noticed recently that my personality tends to shift often, almost like my mind changes personalitys for certain things. I have also noticed said personalitys tend to line up with my kin/linktypes personalitys so I believe if I am polymind those would be the minds. Though I don't see them as minds really, or fictlings. I see them as my kin/linktypes still, just one is more prominent/active at the moment. If I am polyminded, is it valid for me to 1. Not be plural, 2. Not identify with the term fictling/minds etc. I just want a term that let's me understand myself a little better, if polymind isn't the term for me thank you for your help anyway. ^^

you can be polyminded and not identify as plural. I myself don't identify as plural even if I'm a polymind! and if you're a polymind, you don't have to use the terms either. you can make your own ^^

I do believe that your alterhuman identities can sometimes be stronger then the others, that's at least how it is for me, so it can also just be that?

I think it just depends what you're most comfortable with and/or how you "view" them. If you just want to identify as an alterhuman and not polymind, then that's 100% valid and does make sense! but if you want to identify as a polymind then that's also valid and makes sense.

with how you explained it here, I think its closer to alterhuman identities just becoming "stronger", but I could be wrong! you could also "test" using both alterhuman and polymind terms. when I'm unsure of things like that, then i like to "test it out" and see how I feel after some hours, days, weeks or even months (depending on different things of course)
