So i have biid (body integrity identity disorder) and i feel extremely alone and ashamed as its a rare mental disorder. (Yes im seeing someone about it) but id love to meet people with the same disorder and talk about our struggle and just not feel alone anymore. If you could help about it it would be awesome!

somethings-off-blog, a blog run by someone with BIID
a german forum, with only a few posts in English
if you look through the biid tag on tumblr, youβll find other users with biid. There are also some potential upsetting posts, though - by people who donβt really understand the disorder and say incorrect things about it - so please be cautious.Β
If youβre in the US, thereβs an Body Integrity Identity Disorder gathering, although the last one seems to have been held in 2011. You could contact biid.org to inquire if others will be organized in the future.
Have you asked your therapist/psychiatrist about this? They may be able to connect you with other patients, or direct you to support groups.Β
