if you were having a baby would you have a big gender reveal party/celebration or just do somthing low key?
I’m firmly against the idea of gender reveal parties.
I don’t even know how they became such a big thing, specifically at this time in the world, when everyone is far more aware that the binary definition of gender is not a reality.
Baby shower I get, celebrate the coming of a new life, celebrate the parents etc etc.
And while I wouldn’t maintain my child is “genderless”, I simply don’t believe in enforcing any sort of gender roles/stereotypes on my loved ones.
When my child is old enough to tell me which gender they identify with, they will be supported, loved and celebrated whatever that gender is or isn’t. I wouldn’t ever want someone I love thinking I expected them or wanted them to be anything other than themselves.
