mario and luigi are the most recognizable pair of fictional brothers ever. compared to peach, who is also arguably the most iconic female vg chara ever, siblinghood has just never been a recognizable part of her iconography. giving peach a whole blood sister after all this time draws an immediate parallel to the mario bros that was never established before and also sets rosalina to be part of the core 4 way too hard when daisy has ALWAYS been peach's go-to girl in competitive games- they're always paired up in sports promo material (not to mention their preppy/tomboyish dichotomy is more iconic and timeless) and rosalina has always been the lonely, mysterious and far-away mother of the cosmos. everyone was wailing in the first movie when mario and luigi were reunited and being brotherly bc their relationship is instantly nostalgic and goes way back. did peach and rosalina sharing a sisterly embrace do anything for anyone. be honest. do you see how it just fundamentally sucks so bad. also peach gives off such chronic only-child vibes sorry.
