I wrote about my favorite 10 albums of this year, if anybody is interested. I'll probably be using Medium more than tumblr, so if you're on there follow me!
Korrasami is canon. You can celebrate it, embrace it, accept it, get over it, or whatever you feel the need to do, but there is no denying it. That is the official story. We received some wonderful press in the wake of the series finale at the end of last week, and just about every piece I read...
Congrats to my literal bro and the rest of @souvenirsca on the release of their excellent new album, out today on @otherpeoplerecords. GO BUY IT HERE: bit.ly/youfearandme #youfearandme (at Carpinteria, California)

Here’s how I played in 2014. How did you play? spotify.com/2014 #Spotify2014
Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal.
Crying |Â Easy Flight
If you refuse to let people call you out on your shit, how will you ever grow?
I don’t want to be stagnant.
THIS IS A WAKE UP CALL.
"lo-fi", aka don't know how to record shit.
I’ve been collecting burdens In the small space between my heart and my stomach It’s dense and weighty like a stone I can skip across a lake But choose to keep it in a mangled box instead
I worry too much About the intangible, the incomprehensible But the weight is real like a foot upon my chest I guess That means if there’s a push, there’s a pull
Rifle through my things Toss them on a camouflaged floor And I can’t find what I’m looking for I’ll never find what I’m hoping for

I remember driving down the 405 South towards Irvine in the backseat of my aunt’s SUV, drowning out all my anxiety and self-doubt about starting college with a Saves the Day playlist on a 4 year old hand-me-down iPod video. This is a playlist that I revisited frequently throughout the years, adding to it until it was basically just their discography.
4 years later, and I'm driving up the 405 North towards Oxnard, listening to that same playlist on a now 8 year old hand-me-down iPod video. My taste in music has changed drastically these past four years and I don’t like the same things. It comes with growing up and growing older, this I know. But this is favorite bands we’re talking about, and that shit transcends growing up and gaining whatever bullshit wisdom and knowledge and refined taste you think you gained. It was this playlist that reassured 18 year old me that things were going to be okay, and it is this playlist that continues to remind 22 year old me that things will be okay.
Thank you, Saves the Day. You may not be the best band anymore, but your music means a lot to me.
