Hi! I really love your blog and can't wait to see more of it! Could you write a cute fluff scenario with metal bat on a road trip? Thank you!!! /(âŻ3â°)/
âOk, ok, itâs my turn to choose a song,â you said, grinning brightly as you leaned over to fiddle with the radio, much to Baddâs discontent. Unwilling to glance away from the road, however, he was fighting a losing battle as you batted away his hand with a well-placed swipe. âHey, both hands on the wheel.â
With a groan, he relented, although the way he pouted childishly warned you that he wasnât about to let it go that easily. Sure enough, as soon as you found a station you liked, he began to grouch. âI donât see why we couldnât have just listened to my music,â he scoffed, glancing in the sideview mirror before changing lanes; the GPS had signaled that you needed to take the next exit off the highway.
âThatâs because your music sucks,â you retorted, tone serious. The mischievous smile on your face, however, gave you away, and you knew Badd had noticed from the way he was trying to suppress his own smile.
âAs if,â he scoffed in return, driving up the ramp and away from the busy highway onto a much quieter set of local streets. âBesides, I already agreed to take the scenic route for you.â His hand reached over sneakily, but was foiled again as you slapped it away. You were serious about your music. âShouldnât you repay me for that?â
âI am,â you nodded sagely. âWith my presence.â
He snorted. âShut up.â
Laughing ecstatically, you rolled down the window and stuck your arm out, enjoying the way the brisk breeze felt against your skin. Eyes slowly closing, you hummed along to the radio, enjoying the moment as the wind blew your hair out of your face and kissed your shoulders teasingly, chasing the stuffy air out of the beatdown, but ever faithful, car. It was an older model, and rundown from years of use. But, despite its scratched up paint job and creaky leather bench seats, Badd had assured you that it would get you where you guys were planning to go, and you trusted him. So, you werenât worried one bit.
âGet your hand back in the car before something takes it off,â Badd reminded you as the car slowed to a stop, waited a few seconds, and continued moving. The GPS was still spouting directions, and, although you were hesitant, you decided not to argue. Withdrawing your arm, you opted to keep the window down and observed the town outside. A quant little place, the buildings were colorful shades of pastel and were reminiscent of Creole architecture. People walked up and down the streets, teenagers pushed each other around playfully, kids raced to the ice cream parlor around the block, and couples held each other close as they whispered sweet nothings in each othersâ ears.
âHey, Badd?â You mused aloud, waiting for his reply.
âHm?â He questioned, stopping at a red light and waiting for the pedestrians to finish crossing the road.
âWhat do you think of this place? Itâs nice, isnât it?â You grinned as a family passed in front of your car, laughing raucously as the father made exaggerated arm gestures with equally ridiculous sound effects.
âSure,â he agreed after taking the chance to scan his surroundings. âIt looks alright.â
You hummed in acknowledgement, swiveling your head to watch as the city retreated in the distance. The ocean, whose coastline the scenic route followed, was up ahead. âWhat do you think about settling there then? You know, eventually.â
âW-What?â Making sure the road was empty, he turned to give you a confused look, as though asking if he had heard you wrong. When you repeated yourself, he barely managed to stammer out, âW-Why the hell are y-you talking about this now?â
Despite his lack of verbal confirmation, you settled back in your seat with a self-satisfied smirk. âJust wondering,â you sang knowingly. After all, the way he had flushed said everything.
With nothing else to talk about, the conversation lulled as the two of you fell into a comfortable silence. You were absentmindedly nodding along to the radio as Badd focused on the road (and fighting back the warmth in his cheeks). It wasnât until the GPS chirped again that you glanced up to see a line of blue along the horizon. Despite how far away it seemed, the sea grew in size rapidly, and, soon enough, you were staring wide-eyed at the endless expanse of water. Rhythmic waves crashed against the shore, and the air took on a distinctly salty scent as the car turned to drive parallel to the coast.
âWow,â you breathed, stunned by natureâs beauty. This was truly something man could never hope to recreate in all its wonder, and that knowledge filled you with awe. âIsnât it beautiful, Badd?â Never one to care much for things like these, however, your boyfriend merely grunted in agreement. It was, admittedly, a let down and you shot him an unimpressed stare. You quickly bounced back though, having noticed a rest stop up ahead. âHey, letâs take a break there, please? I want to get some photos to show my family!â
Obediently, Badd pulled over on the side of the road, and had barely unbuckled his seatbelt by the time you had already scrambled out of the car, simply too excited to sit still. Allowing himself a bemused grin, he followed you at his own pace, watching as you scrambled onto the rail, phone in hand, for some quality shots. Wandering over, he stood by your side as you drank in the landscape and walked you back to the car when you were full.
âThat was definitely worth adding an hour and a half to our drive, right?â You cheered, flipping through the photos on your phone. Deleting some and editing others, you were so engrossed in your task that you failed to notice the way Baddâs eyes softened for moment as he watched you.
âSure,â he answered, placing both hands on the wheel as he turned back onto the road. Although he was never one to care much for things like these, just witnessing how happy it made you made the whole experience more than worth it.
