she’s not going to. She gets paid a lot of money to be in unrivaled and her defense has taken massive leaps both seasons afterwards. She got cooked by Sykes in unrivaled and then defended her best out of the entire sparks team this season. Kaitlyn and Kate have very different offensive games. Kaitlyn is an iso player who should be taking the looks she is- she has the speed and ball handling skills but she does need to improve her iso defense. Unrivaled would be hugely helpful for her ironically. Kate meanwhile isn’t an iso player and never has been. She does need to keep working on her shot and especially on growing her midrange jump shot but really her biggest promise seems to be on the defensive end. If she actually had a coach who was able to develop her properly (not roberts) she has potential to be a really excellent disruptive defensive guard in the W

As someone who is not white I’m really tired of her doing the bare minimum when her name gets used to spread hate against Black queer women. I’m not giving someone a medal for a ‘oh nobody deserves hate’ almost a week after someone was getting the worst racial abuse of their entire life and death threats or ignoring her walking out with a known racist who uses the N word. It’s very easy to directly and quickly put out exactly where you stand and call something out as soon as you see it- Paige, cam and kate have all done it so I’m not with this nothing she says is good enough BS excuse. Yeah maybe she just wants to hoop but the reality is that her name IS being used by MAGA and racists to further an agenda. That congress letter literally says she is being targeted for being white and wants to know what should be done about the Black women who are being seen to ‘attack her’. Like this is fucking dangerous for the Black women of the league and you’re either ok with that or you’re not. Silence is a privilege non white people in this country don’t have.

which Caitlin stuff my dude? Every day it’s something new. I’ll say that I’m not impressed with her silence when AT’s kids were getting death threats and it took her days to just give a bland all lives matter comment that was too little too late

If we are talking about the AT stuff, I think it definitely should have been upgraded bc she does plays reckless and really has a lot of extra unnecessary fouls. Yes slowed down it looks awful but it was unnecessary in the first place. I kinda think this one was just the straw that broke the camel back but it has needed to happened.

Now with the congress stuff, it’s almost election time, congress will do anything for clout to get reelected and get their name out there. Protecting women sports has been a big subject this past cycle and this just kinda furthers it.

It’s honestly unfortunate to Caitlin tbh bc she’s not out here asking for congress to write to Cathy, or begging for suspensions, yes she’s complaint about refs but so does everyone else in the league. She is just the most popular women’s basketball player and everything she does/happens to her gets talked about 100x more than other thing so more attention is brought to it. That’s how her career has gone tho, people hate her mainly bc of her fans when half of them barely even know anything about basketball they are just following the wave, even players seems to not really like her until they get to actual know her. In the end people have to realize Caitlin just wants to play basketball but at the same time she’s not gonna come out and tell her fans to stop supporting her bc like it or not you can’t say it hasn’t grown the W, which is exactly why she has turn down multiple million dollar plus offers to play elsewhere, bc she wanted to help grow the W.

Yeah I agree with most of this tbh. I don’t think Caitlin is out there asking Congress to get involved or asking for players to be suspended. She’s one of the biggest name in the sport rn so everything gets amplified x100. I wouldn’t doubt if she’s embarrassed by all of this. Just interesting that our dumbass president is involved.

& I also can’t really deny she’s helped grow the W. The ratings, attendance, and attention are all there. I hate that some of the people jumped on the bandwagon because of the LSU/Iowa game though because it truly brought some nasty fans.

I just wish she’d say a little more when the MAGA crowd try to use her as the face of their own narratives. I know she’s spoken against hate before, but to me it just feels a little surface level. Maybe there’s stuff we don’t see behind the scenes though.
