other characters have a stranglehold on the muse as of now i'm afraid but: watch fargo.
truly an excellent decision by noah hawley to have numbers and wrench be childhood friends. it makes their dynamic that much more compelling because numbers didn't learn asl because he was assigned a deaf partner, no, as a child numbers learned asl because his best friend was deaf and he learned to better communicate with him and he wanted to learn to better communicate with him. having wrench be deaf — and played by a deaf actor! — was already such good representation, and then we have numbers learning sign as a child not out of obligation but because he wanted to, he wanted to be able to speak to his friend in a way that was easier for him than lip reading or writing. which in turn makes it all the more horrific that they were both kidnapped together. it's evident that they already had a close bond before then, but their shared trauma bonded them irrevocably and detrimentally. we have proof of wrench being able to develop similar bonds, so i think the littermate syndrome they share is stronger with numbers: he's either fully incapable of creating similar bonds with others — though he could bond strongly with other — or he's incapable of creating bonds that aren't similar; he's either entirely indifferent or intensely devoted and codependent.
What the fuck? We got the shit room!

@joyousdefunct, at a gas station at the edge of nowhere, eddy holds the door for numbers.
and number says with a grin, "real gentleman you are," before into the gas station and with a thanks he walks, and to the coolers in the back with sodas and cold coffees. itches for a cigarette, he does, and from the back he eyes both the door and the checkout counter where behind the cashier, a bored teenaged boy working the night shift, are boxes and cartons of the things. but that's not why they're here, not for the sodas nor the cold coffees and neither for the cigarettes, not even for marlboros. "what time's he get here?" he asks eddy, eyeing the door again where outside snow falls heavy. they're here for the target: the gas station's his nightly go to for cigarettes and lottery tickets after work. a creature of habit, his absence will be noticed, but they'll be out of the state by the time anyone cares to look into it. if anyone cares at all. a creature of habit and an unlikeable one too. but who's to say he's such a creature of habit that he'll face a snow storm for smokes and scratch offs. creature of habit, creature of comfort, but an addiction is an addiction — gambling and nicotine. "may be late because of the storm." the storm that's set the scene: it's so cold the fucking thing won't start, i think the battery's dead, numbers will stand by their car and lie, while eddy will follow the target out of the store, i have jumper cables in the back but i don't know what to do with them, and shove him into the trunk. "and we can't loiter here too long."
always thinking about how hanzee was taken in by the gerhardts as a child to be raised as a living weapon and attack dog for the gerhardt crime syndicate and how he murdered the gerhardts, his "family," after decades of enduring abuse and suffering at their hand, only for hanzee to then kidnap numbers and wrench as children to be raised as living weapons and attack dogs for his own crime syndicate that he built in the ashes of the gerhardts' and how that's all revealed to us in an episode titled "palindrome" thus signifying how hanzee is repeating the cycle with numbers and wrench and to me that's always meant numbers ends up killing hanzee and either walking away from it all, ending the cycle, or taking over what remains of fargo and continuing the ouroboros of traumatized men eating their own tails because it's a story that's read the same forward (hanzee) as it is backward (numbers) a boy is kidnapped and raised to be a living weapon, becomes jaded and bitter, and kills his "family" as revenge, a boy is kidnapped and raised to be a living weapon, becomes jaded and bitter, and kills his "family" as revenge
