FOLKLORE + MYTHOLOGY BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

There’s nothing quite like a book that has roots of folklore origin. Of course any fantasy novel can get my heartstrings twisting, but I’m not certain what it is about the brutal cold, ferociousness that is drawn from these old tales that make me so nostalgic for places I could only ever dream of.  I adore every aspect of it, from the high spires of the gods to the squat villages in which any passerby peasant could be the next witch. That being said, you can probably figure by now that it’s also my favorite genre.

Here I’ve compiled a list, in no particular order, of some books that have been heavily based upon or are a retelling of mythological or folklore stories. Enjoy, and happy reading!  Also, feel free to add to this never-ending list.
