Irritator challengeri.

Woooo pelican croc time!! I wasn’t sure what creature to do for this one, but since it’s by the sea, I figured a spinosaurid would do just fine. Man, I struggled with the settings on this one. Also I put way too much detail into the Irritator when you CAN BARELY SEE IT AAAAA.

Time taken: 2 hr, 33 minutes (extra 45 minutes-ish for editing)

Out shoveling to access my generator last winter. Mainers always need to watch for moose, but that’s the weirdest looking one I’ve ever seen.

Look, being a Mainer, I’m extremely biased against winter. However, it does give me an excuse to draw some boreal dinosaurs, so there’s that.

Dilophosaurus wetherilli.

I planned to make this a bigger piece, but honestly, I just wanted to do a headshot drawing today instead of a full body. The first dinosaur apex is on the prowl!

Saw a weird troll at the botanical gardens last winter. Could have sworn it moved.

Megatherium americanum.

This was a challenge. I didn’t know it would be so hard for me to draw a ground sloth, but as you can see, I struggled. The lighting was also hard to get right, but I’m a little proud with how it turned out. Maybe I’ll get better next year.

Time taken: 2 hr, 28 min; additional 30-45(ish, I didn’t keep track this time, sorry) minutes for editing.

The campus’ delivery robot got some aggressive visitors looking for food recently. People really need to stop feeding them.

Hatzegopteryx thambema.

I forgot I had this picture! My college had a few of these delivery robots a while back. And after grandson released Autonomous Delivery Robot, I found the picture, and I knew I wanted to draw an apex predator using the robot to their advantage. I wouldn’t take one of those hatchlings if I were you, but hey, if the robot insists…

Deinonychus antirrhopus I drew in a photo I took in a gym. I was so excited to use this one!

Time taken: 2 hr, 24 min; about an hour and a half more on editing.

I may have to call animal control on this one…

I’m so sorry I’m getting to this so late, a lot’s been going on! But yes, I have!!

I tend to look at everything dinosaur related I can find (especially dino horror, surprise surprise), so I watched it fairly early on. I absolutely loved it, and oh boy, I was HOOKED. I am such a sucker for practical effects, and the whole thing was very well executed. His Weird Birds project was also the inspiration behind the Nanuqsaurus drawing I did!

getting back into the swing of things, so i drew the trilobites from the Fossils and Archaeology Revival mod for Minecraft! i was unbelievably excited about them being added, and i love giving them specially decorated pools for them to chase bubbles in :))

top left: Scotoharpes (fun fact; they actually didn’t even have their own wikipedia article, and i had to use Mindat.org, who always comes in clutch, to find ANY information about them. they were fast suspension feeders!)

top right: Lonchodomas (fun fact; they are completely eyeless!)

bottom left: Dicranurus (fun fact; they were the inspiration for the alien from the movie Prometheus!)

been a while since i posted one of these; i’m back! hopefully for good this time lol; my brain told me to do side quests first.

i forgot to post this quite some time ago, but here’s my concept for a Minecraft Entelodontid Hoglin! honestly, i absolutely adore Entelodontids, and i love drawing them. couldn’t miss a chance!

here’s a short scientific explanation for those of you who would like to know more:

commonly referred to as “the pigs from hell”, the Entelodonts are some of the largest animals to have ever walked on cloven hooves. they lived in North America and Eurasia, about 37.2-15.97 million years ago, and there are currently about 6-7 known genuses, with dozens more species. their diet is still debated, and they are thought to have been opportunistic omnivores that ate anything they could, as there’s evidence of them eating both meat (including bones) and plants. their heads are absolutely massive, their jaws were incredibly powerful, and they were very muscular and almost hunch-backed in appearance. however, despite their nickname of the “hell pigs”, their closest living relatives are actually thought to be whales and hippos at the moment!
