i just don’t understand her constant need to be right and have all the iNsiDeR iNfO, like, the fact that gyms can seem like happy, supportive places to outsiders but in reality be abusive is exactly the point that needs to be made

I’m pretty sure I remember her once smugly dismissing people’s concerns about TD once on gymcastic. She’s so unbelievably irritating. Imagine being in your 30s and needing so desperately to feel superior to strangers (usually considerably younger than yourself and sometimes actual teenagers) on the internet that you’ll publicly contradict yourself.

i mean im sympathetic to her trauma but this woman sounds unhinged aiqieuwyqtt like this started out normal but very on-brand for lauren but then it took a sharp turn toward…. whatever it ended up being ??? 😐

As a fully grown adult I cannot believe that there are other fully grown adults who pick up nasty twitter fights with literal children over gymnastics.

adult gym fans are the least mature adults I have ever encountered. they are the weirdest. and i used to spend a huge amount of time with grown ladies who never outgrew their horse phase so...

I read some things about Belarus recently (unrelated to gymnastics or sports) and it makes me that much more irritated by the 2012 fake Belarussian-Americans. You get to grow up in a (flawed but still basically) safe and functionally democratic country with a high standard of living, and then you get to pretend to be a citizen of Belarus solely to take Olympic spots from actual gymnasts whose families had to live through the challenges of the USSR, the crazy economic upheaval and bandit capitalism of the post-Soviet transition, and the political repression that has essentially existed there ever since? Fuuuuuck youuuuu (but mostly fuck the adults involved - the coaches and your parents, who really should have known better).

Because she ia tall and from a small gymnastics program. Like, no I just can't stand her feet and the constant overscoring. There is no need to rationalize. Sometimes people just don't like athletes

my point was that there aren’t really "wrong” reasons to dislike a gymnast beyond racist ones... people are going to like what they like.

sure but who else’s vaults would make a noticeably better difference in team score? **Actual vaults that have been competed, not training footage.
