“Unfair, you say? Unfair that you have to listen to me? Unfair that you still belong in triple diapers? Of course it’s fair! We have a saying here at Fresh Beginnings, you know: ‘All patients are diapered, but some are more diapered than others.’ And really, that’s all there is to it!
“Sure, Hana. Of course I’m diapered! Everyone here is, even after we graduate; it’s just who we are. Your naughty little attitude is precisely why we all can tell you’re clearly not ready to move up to the Cutie Pie level like me. No, certainly not! As long as you keep on thinking that you don’t belong in those lovely, thick diapers, you’re going to be stuck as a lowly little Duckling…
“So, to answer your question - yes, Hana. Yes, you do have to let me put that third diaper on you. And yes, you certainly do need to get in your crib for another couple hours of Lullaby Learning™ and a few more ba-bas of your yummy Duckie Juice™. Doesn’t that sound fun, sweetie pie? It’s exactly where you belong anyway, you silly little baby…”
It was so…odd. Doris’s lilting voice sounded precisely like the pretty music that echoed through my crib every time I was napping… That voice filled my mind even now unconsciously; with a bit of concentration I could hear it chiming over and over in my head… Cute little baby. Happy little baby. Wet little baby. Stinky little baby. Baby go pee pee. Baby go poo poo… What was that voice? What did those words even mean…? I felt like I used to know. I felt like it had something to do with how weird I felt right now, how my bottom felt wet all the time these days, how I felt certain somehow that I wasn’t supposed to be in diapers, that something was bad, unfair…
But as I gazed up into Doris’s eyes and heard her voice, my mind reeled and quietened. Silly me. Silly baby. What silly thoughts I’d had! Of course I belong in diapers. Happy little baby. Wet little baby…
Doris just smiled, even as a very similar voice echoed through her own reprogrammed mind. All patients are diapered, but some are more diapered than others. She grinned even as she felt a fresh wave of pee gently flood into her own softly crinkling diaper. Such a good girl. Good baby…
