Wether it's during the school year or durning summer break, rest days are important for me. Before I started to implement them into my life, I would always be working on a hobby, studying, or working out. The lack of breaks led to burnout in my creative hobbies, lack of motivation for studying and constant tiredness and injury for working out. At first it was hard to convince myself to take a break but now, I have learned how to make rest days enjoyable for myself. I find balancing productive chores with taking care of my self makes these days the most enjoyable.
π Relaxing bath- listen to music/ watch somthing relaxing, take your time and enjoy relaxing in the water (I also love doing this when my body is sore from working out)
𫧠Chores- take trash out, vacume room, orginize a part of your room/ drawers, dust room/ wipe surfaces, prepare snacks/ meals for the week, orginize spotify/ pinterest
π―οΈ Environment- open windows for fresh air, comfy blankets, fairy lights, cozy pjs, drink tea
π
Beauty- face mask, scincare routine, paint nails, pluck eye brows, heat less curls
π§ββοΈ Movement- stretching, walk outside, nap, light workout
π Relaxing hobbies- reading with quiet music in the background, cozy video games, tv series
π¨ Creativity- creative writing, coloring, making collages, make a playlist
π Reflection- check in with yourself mentaly, jounaling, planning, reflecting how the week has gone, what have you learned, meditation with music, write down favorite memories from the week/ what you are grateful for, reflect on recent wins not just what you need to improve
How I loosly structure my rest days:
I like to pick somthing to do for each of the following pillars to decide on what I want to do during my rest day:
2. Care for my space π―οΈ
3. Care for my body π§ββοΈ
4. Somthing productive π«§
5. Somthing enjoyable π
I hope that this was helpful and you get to spend a quiet day relaxing π«Ά
