My first guess was that it contains Boron because of its flame color and most of Boron is sourced in Eastern Europe (Turkey). Danburite was the closest gemstone that was “white” or yellow. I keep wanting to call Whitcrystal Whitecrystal. So that part is bias.

I ditched that theory namely because it didn’t have a lot of symbolism behind it.

Copper on the other hand has some baggage. Copper is often used in currency and can be tied to Manny because his name is just “Money”.

I don’t think I need to explain Colias’ name. It’s the scientific name of the butterfly by the same. But it’s also called the Palaeno Sulphur. At first I thought Sulphur was my answer, but it burns blue. However it can be turned into sulfate and added to copper.

Copper Sulphate can be found in Chalcanthite and be mined that way. It’s rare and burns green. Butttt I found something else that just felt more Better. Barium.

Barium is cool mineral.

One compound, Barium Sulphate is pretty nifty too. It’s used as X-ray contrast in things such as barium swallows or enemas. It’s very crucial in the medical imaging scene. It absorbs radation and doesn’t get absorbed in the bloodstream.

Oh oh Also guess what the chemical symbol for Barium is? Ba as in Babahl. BO4 2- can be used for concentrating copper to be used in electrical equipment and extracting copper for production.

However one if the most noticeable uses is in PRINTING. In some country’s banknotes, barium sulphate is used. This helps with opacity, ink stability, a reflective finish. But most importantly, it’s the compound in specialized ink that is used to create security features in CASH!!!

My final opinion is that Whitcrystal’s real world equivalent is Baryte and/or Barium. It’s not as scarce as prior examples but it can be tied back to Turnabout Ablaze from Palaeno’s name relating to Sulphate, Barium burning green and Barium Sulphate’s role in printing.
