too bad for you, i don't regret it at all

me trying to sound normal when commenting on a fanfic/fanart i really like: hi this makes me feel like a lawnmower

was thinking about ozgil angst in the context of gil's willingness to do anything for oz, and oz's knowledge of it, and then i remembered this fic on ao3 which is my absolute favorite ozgil fic that has ever been written. this fic is my holy grail. the style and pacing and balance are all so amazing, and they characterize oz and gil so well. their dynamic is absolutely perfect in this fic, and every other line floors me with how beautiful and moving and well-constructed it is. seriously i cannot reccommend this fic enough, there is so much pain and so much love, and it does justice to all the complexities and contradictions of oz and gil's relationship SO beautifully. go read it go read it now!!!

ahhh ozgil is like. what if i choose you every single time. what if i stay with you in spite of what fate had in store for us. what if we can't stay together but i'll be by your side until the very last second. what if i bend reality as far as it'll go to get one more moment with you. what if there are things about you only i can see, and things about you everyone but me can see, and i love all of those things. what if there were things i was scared to see about you and about myself, but i faced them all, because that's you, and i love you, and that's me, and you love me, and that lets me be strong enough to see me. what if we both changed, and i still chose to love you. what if we were never who we thought we were, and it didn't make us love each other any less.
