Good Life Gear Pet Water Bottle Review
Every weekend I take my dog to Bushy Park, in Kingston Upon Thames. One the main reasons I choose to go here with my dog is because they have multiple toilets and cafes…. you do not have to walk for longer than about thirty minutes until the next pit stop. There are dog bowls and water fountains outside each of the toilets, which is perfect for people with their dogs who need a little refreshment – especially on the warmer days, being able to rely on these places for your dog to have a drink is so useful. I never need to worry about bringing a water bottle with me. However I know I’m in the lucky minority – most people need to carry the essentials with them for their dog, including snacks and water.
This weekend we took out a sample product to test, the Good Life Gear Pet Water Bottle. I filled it up with water before we left the house for our long Saturday trek, popped it into my backpack, and off we went. After about an hour or so, my dog had her fair share of zoomies and fetch, we thought it would be a good time to stop for a little drink.
The first thing I noticed about this bottle is just how secure and dry the cap is… if I ever bring a water bottle for my dog, I’m used to getting water everywhere. The pet water bottle has a little metal ball that rotates as your dog licks it – similar to the way that a roll on deodorant rolls around – which means that as opposed to your dog glugging 100mph, the water is slowly released, so its more like licking an ice lolly. The idea is not to turn the bottle upside down, but more on your dogs own level – that way when he/she drinks the water goes down naturally, and prevents any coughing or hacking that sometimes ensues when a dog drinks too enthusiastically.
When I first presented this to my dog, she was a little perplexed at first… but I just showed her with my finger that rolling the ball will release water, and she quickly got it. From then, it was a hit!
As it releases water slowly, I didn’t find that the water ran out quickly – in fact I didn’t feel the need to top it up at the fountain at all. In short I would say that I found this bottle very handy, convenient and lightweight.
