Can I still join if I’m unsure if I want to get baptised?
Yes you can! This programme is for all who are interested to find out more about the Catholic faith, regardless of your decision about baptism prior to joining. It’s a safe space for you to learn more and eventually decide when you’re ready! Rest assured that God will always meet us where we are :) All are welcome!
Can I still join the RCIY programme even after the cycle has already begun?
Yes you can!
However, if you join us after the Rite of Acceptance (i.e. after the inquiry period), we may arrange for you to continue your journey with us towards Baptism the following year.
This is to ensure that you have received adequate formation in your preparation towards receiving the Sacrament :)
If I am already a baptised Christian from another denomination, can I still attend the RCIY programme? Must I get baptised again?
Yes you can! Baptisms from most Christian traditions are recognised as valid by the Catholic Church.
However, please let us know which church you were baptised at and we can help to check if you’d need to receive the Sacrament of Baptism in the Catholic Church.
What will we learn during the RCIY programme?
The RCIY programme will cover the main teachings of the Catholic Church based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Additionally, we’ll be sharing the important aspects of discipleship and what it means to live a life for God as a Catholic Christian.
The RCIY journey is not just to build our knowledge about Jesus and the Catholic Church, but also to encounter the person of Jesus more deeply in our lives.
