At this point Evelyn had finally had enough of fighting with the wiring and well… there was a loud crack of something from the inside of the vent, a bright flash, and the strong smell of something burning… as in solder and not fire, but who was to know that?

She soon clambered backwards out of the vent, flipped the switch,waited a few moments, and signaled for her to check again.

“I did check hon’ and I found nothin’...”, she said to her as she began to sigh deeply and just gave the other a smile.

“You might be surprised…” Evelyn muttered with a soft grumble as she stuck her head back into the vent to work on whatever it was she was doing.

The heating was out, Winston was way too bulky to fit into the tiny vents,   and someone had to fix things. This was definitely going to be a long night…
