This Owl likes to think that he's intelligent and to be fair to him, he is well-educated. He considers himself a businessman, and makes his off-the-books millions by using his Talons to "acquire" people. With the Court of Owls' reach, he can take orders from interested, well-paying Clients, and in days or weeks, have a custom sourced product delivered.

He dislikes being called a trafficker; that's a gouache term. This Owl is an Acquisitions Manager.

Voices echo in the caves silently patrolled by a number of Talons.

The Court has been pleased with the Owl's plan and had forgiven him the resources he had used.

With his acquiring of Jervis Tetch's mind controlling technology, he had been able to provide the Court with a more cost-effective way to break in the Talon Recruits. The psychological breaking point was easier to identify now, leading to a quicker turnaround between raising a product into a Talon.

He has enjoyed showing the proof of concept with his Crimson Claw.

The Jervis mind control chip, not in a gimmick hat, but surgically inserted into the subject's delicate brainstem had transformed the weak Prey animal into a keen and obedient Predator. A body that has never been trained to fight became a living weapon in days as long as the mind could follow the lessons.

There is no hesitance to strike, no conflict with orders, no flinching... Well. It flinches when the Owl wants it to.

The Owl has enjoyed it greatly these past few days.

And now the Owl is watching the Court's scientists cut into the body holding obediently still on the table. He is honored to witness the start of his Claw's physical ascension to its purpose as a Talon. The wires are being placed, the liquids are dripping into veins, the body looks ethereal; the most beautiful living corpse. Its starvation and injuries are on display, and the Owl thinks it's wonderfully lewd to have so many eyes tracing over the bruises and bites. The missing bits of skin and the bleeding welts.

A number of other owls are bearing witness to the occasion as they stand at the observation window, murmuring praises at the Owl for ordering the Claw to be still and silent as he is transformed. The old way involved too much screaming and thrashing to be elegant. This way is much preferable.

It sees a commotion of some kind behind the thick glass windows watching him he's always being watched.

It's difficult to concentrate right now, there's a voice somewhere in it's head that's been crying for a while now. Weak.

The Crimson Claw only cries when its Master orders it to do so. The Master enjoys the taste.

Master is here and the surgeons are running away. The other Talons are running to fight.

Master orders it to stand and arms it with one of the scalpels still red with its blood.

"I order you to kill @eleanor-wayne!"

"Eleanor, stay back! We can heal from their attacks." Rose says.

Eleanor continues to focus on the owls and talons in front of her

The fighting shifts. The Talon is privileged to know some of the weak points in the prey's armor. It ducks into the scrum, moving with near inhuman grace as it gets close enough to throw a knife at an armor joint.

Eleanor shoots an annoyed look at the knife in her shoulder. She drops her claymore and switches to a stiletto, not wanting to aggravate the injury by continuing to use the two handed weapon

He clothes line Brad, forcing him down on the floor on his back.

Rose rushes over to tend to Eleanor, whipping out her handgun to shoot down the Talons.

Eleanor waits until there aren't any threats close to her before popping off a piece of her armor, pulling out the knife, and tying gauze around her arm with practiced efficiency. She pulls her armor back on before turning her gaze onto the Owl that started this whole mess.

Kill them! Kill them all!

The Order is heard; it bends itself unnaturally, using its toes to grip a discarded blade, tries to jab the knife into the closest artery.

It hurts. It is slippery with its own blood and the dark inhuman blood of Talons. It must obey.

Rose grins, gun in hand.

"Come handle me yourself, មនុស្សល្ងង់." She says, as she dives forward, and shoots at the Owl.

[It does nothing to stop her from driving the knife into the soft flesh of his throat. He staggers backwards, clutching at the hilt in a panic.]
