The Master and Margarita is truly The Book Of All Times. It's got the devil. The devil has heterochromia and a crew of demons that consist of a really tall guy, a talking giant cat who wasn't allowed to ride a tram by himself and a redhead. Everyone lies to the point you don't know what is real and what is not. Multiple characters go insane and are sent to a mental hospital because of this. There are witches. There is Jesus Christ. It's got artists. Ones who give in to mass culture and ones who do not and are broke(and insane) as a result. The male lead is the insane, broke artist and he doesn't have a name. The title characters show up like halfway through the book, idk, I haven't actually gotten to where margarita shows up yet. There's a ball and everyone is naked. They drink clear spirit. There is social commentary. The main female character is enamoured with her insane artist, loser writer boyfriend and calls him a genius. He thinks she deserves so much more. His book is, if the novel is to be believed, the actual recollection of jesus' last days and death.

fuck it. be creative even if you never really *make* anything. write out plot synopses of stories and then move on. design OCs you'll never use. make mood boards and concept art and don't do anything with them. life's too short to forget everything that inspired you and creation doesn't have to be "complete" to be worth the time you put into it.
