Out of ashes

The Professor chuckled, as he let his thumb caress the back of her hand. It was a calming motion, enough to calm her. And him. It was different being back her again, but he was glad that he was back here with the woman that he loved. They could share everything in the Enchanted Forest together now. And raise their unborn child together here. Maybe in the Dark Castle? Or maybe they could find a nice small, cozy cottage together? “Good. I am glad that I have you here with me, though.”

They followed her over to the table, and they took their seats. The Professor laughed at her comments, and he shook his head. The waitress was certainly friendly and playful -  judging by her banter that she was having with the two of them. “I’m not silent,” the Professor told her, looking up at her. “Just respectful.” She did look very beautiful. Especially with her wide grin and dimples.

“I’m actually dating someone else,” Belle told the other woman, as she smoothed out her dress as she sat down on the wooden chair. 

“I suppose we could have a drink of the ale, though,” the Professor said.

Clara looked a the pair of them and smiled gently. “A good looking man, that is respectful, you’re certainly not from around here.” The barmaid joked as she looked at him. He was very handsome, she found herself wishing to know him better, but tomorrow she’d be back at work and she’d be acting like this world wasn’t where she belonged, she’d probably never see this handsome man again.

Lamplighter was beginning to think his life was cursed. He had thought everything was over and that he would never come back, but unfortunately Vought had done… something and now he was alive again. They rushed him to some private hospital and tried to restore his skin. It was scarred by the burns, but it was still easy to see who he was to those who knew him before. The big difference was the cybernetic arm he had that replaced his arm that got cut off. He had no clue what it did yet, but whatever it is probably had something to do with fire. And it was probably bugged.

He hadn’t had any visitors since he had arrived here, he doubted that anyone from The Seven even knew so it was a surprise to him when Starlight of all people entered his hospital room.

“Yeah, there’s no way I wouldn’t know who you are. You got into The Seven when I…stepped down and you’re that Hughie guys girlfriend or something. He wouldn’t shut the fuck up about you.” Lamplighter isn’t even going to mention that parody porn. Maybe the old Lamplighter would, but this Lamplighter…really didn’t feel like making jokes. Or doing much of anything other than wish he was dead. “What brings you here? ‘Cause no offense, but I can’t imagine you came all this way just to see me without wanting something.”

Starlight looked around the room, it was very... clean. The machines beeped quietly, but loud enough to drive a person crazy. She couldn’t help but notice the look on Lamplighter’s face. Did he want to be alive, or did he truly hate himself that much he wanted to kill himself? She found herself wondering why exactly Vought had done this to him, why they chose to keep him alive like this? She couldn’t help but wonder if this place was bugged, she knew she wouldn’t be able to say much to him, or maybe she could suggest they took a walk outside of here? Either way she’d find a way to talk to him about why she came here. 

Starlight, looked at Lamplighter, she gave him a small smile. She could see the confusion, the questioning, the wonder, the curiosity in his eyes as to why she was here. 

@outxofxashes asked: Rory looked at the Amy and the doctor ahead of him and the professor and sighed. "It's not something you two can fix." He said gently. The woman he loved had thrown him out, didn't want him. He'd spent so long waiting for her, he was the last centurion, the protector of the box his love was in, protector of Amy... and she'd thrown him out. He always knew he loved her more than she loved him, this was just proof. "I know what you're thinking, what you're both thinking. But you can't fix this." He said softly.

The Professor looked around at the others, before sighing. With his hands on his hips, he paced around slowly before looking over at them again. "No," he told them. "There has to be a way." There was always a way.

Trevor had taken the day off, usually he’d be at work around this time but he didn’t feel like going in. As he heard the front door open he jumped up on his bed, confused for a couple seconds as he looked at the time. Slowly he approached the kitchen quietly to land his eyes on his roommate. A chuckle fell from his lips as he shook his head, “you act like you haven’t seen this handsome mug before.” He joked as he leaned against the frame, his eyes fixated on her. Brows furrowed together, “Bad day?”
