❝I suppose the fact that I strive to achieve perfection in most, if not, all the things I do, is something I both like the most and like the least.❞

❝Modeling, I would say the traveling. I enjoy the fact that I get to travel to magnificent places for shoots and I get to meet amazing people because of it. Designing, I get to be creative, put out things I’m proud of and things I can look back on years later and see how I’ve grown as a designer.❞

                    ❝I don't know, Jules wrapping everything sounds absolutely adorable. See, now you're just being silly,❞ the female replied with a joking scoff, knowing well half their conversations were overly outrageous. ❝I'm sure, if she were to remember anything, it'd be that you put your all into it and that you tried your best. Which is always what matters the most. Perfect wrapping means nothing when compared to messy, but filled with care wrapping. It just doesn't compete.❞ Thin shoulders lifted in the smallest of shrugs towards her own words, though still offering her bright smile towards the other. It was overly ridiculous, dramatic, exaggerated, fitting words that were usually used to describe their conversations, and yet, it never grew tiring. ❝Too many titles?❞ The brunette questioned as a single brow arched against her features. ❝And if you think 'crazy' is only just now being added to whatever this 'list' is, I don't think you've paid attention to half of our conversations. Crazy was added a long, long time ago.❞

                    Her head tilted from one side to the other at the question. It was true; the effort was significant; it was a hassle, and most probably didn’t want to put in the effort considering they were probably looking for something to make their lives easier, not harder. ❝I suppose it’s like everything that involves effort. Most things, they’re worth the effort you put in. Riding a bike up a hill, it’s a struggle and difficult, but once you get to the top, you’re usually quite proud of yourself. And then you get to ride all the way to the bottom right after.❞ It was the ride down that was the reward, though, wasn’t it? Or maybe that proud feeling was the reward, she wasn’t entirely sure. ❝I’m sure there’s got to be a rent shop somewhere. You know, one that’s entirely dedicated to scooters,❞ the brunette began as she worked to pull her phone from her pocket, ready to dig through the internet for a location.

❝Listen when I tell you about the delicious, amazing thing that is cookie dough truffles. Balls of chocolate chip cookie dough that are dipped in chocolate? What could be better than that?❞

❝Preferably, for being a kind person and for my work.❞

                   It was what the brunette would consider being one of the worst feelings in the world — feeling uncomfortable as she dug and sorted through her own home. Digging through drawers, pushing back clothes in the closet to go by each one to make sure they were all her’s, cabinets and every nook and cranny she could think of to look were all on the list to be investigated for items that weren’t her own. Her entire focus had been on the mission until the sound at the door pulled her attention, finding herself pulling it open, only to come face-to-face with the other once again. ❝You’re early, I’m pretty sure you’re early, or maybe I’m late,❞ the female mumbled more to herself as she looked down at the watch wrapped around her wrist, trying not to drop the shirt she had been holding onto with her other hand. ❝I’m still looking around but, I suppose you can come in. Ignore the mess, please. I’m still wrapping gifts.❞ The mess, referring to the perfectly organized ‘gift wrapping station’ she had set up on her living room floor.

                    The thought had the brunette leaning back in her seat, head tilting backward so soft colors could scan the ceiling. It did, truthfully, sound like a little much, but that sounded quite normal for the pair. However, the card was to his sister and after all this time; she had to be used to the ridiculousness that came to being in East’s life by now. ❝You know, I think it’s only fair that the cats get to sign it too. They were involved and if they seemed to like it, they should be able to say thank you.❞ The brunette finally answered as she sat straight once more. ❝Maybe you could do ink-prints of their paws or something. That way they can actually sign the card. Besides, tiny cat paw prints sound adorable.❞

                    ❝If it makes you feel any better, most people don't care about how the wrapping looks on their gifts. But it does usually show you put an extra dash of thought into it if you make it look nice. Either way, I'm sure it won't be that bad, but I'm here to help,❞ the brunette's attempt at reassurance came as she moved to help hand over two of the rolls of wrapping paper. As much as she knew they didn't have to look nice, she was a person that needed organization far too much to simply wrap gifts without a color scheme and without care. ❝One day,❞ she repeated back through her own warming smile. Only after did her attention turn towards the table. ❝That does sound silly, not the usual 'this or that' you would usually expect. But it should be alright and besides, who can say no to wine? Crazy people, that’s who, crazy people.❞

                    With three different rolls of wrapping paper hugged under one arm — one solid gold, one solid silver, and the other a mix of the two colors with a gold background and silver stars — and a box of cookies in the other hand, the brunette found herself outside the familiar door. Holidays have always been things the female’s feelings swayed towards. Either finding them magical and amazing or she couldn’t wait for them to slip by. The emotions towards the celebratory holidays usually decided themselves when the date of the events grew closer. It depended on how many times her mother had called to demand a visit and how much time she had spent with the people she enjoyed being around. So far, as the door opened and the bright smile caught her gaze, her thoughts were positive for the holiday. ❝You can’t be that awful,❞ the brunette replied through a laugh. ❝And of course, I never joke about cookies, Austin. They’re a very serious matter.❞

❝Realistic goals, that's exactly it. Resolutions should always involve realistic goals, that way you're more likely to follow through with them. As much as I would enjoy a very dedicated lunch, it just doesn't sound possible — which is saddening.❞ The thought in the back of her mind had her head shaking, only for a single laugh to come falling from the female. ❝Clearly, we just need a vacation together, make up for all of our lost lunches and brunches and dinners.❞ The half-joke came with her small laugh, sure it would make up for all of their missed bonding time, but it would most likely cause work to take up even more time once it was over. The apology given by the other had her hand waving through the air to brush it away as fast as she could. ❝Please, you come with me to plenty of events, it's a fair trade-off, always has been,❞ she offered with the warmest of smiles she could manage to gift to her friend. ❝See, you should have lead with that. You know I always agree if there's good food or hot chocolate.❞ Laughter returned to the air around the table as her response was given, knowing she would have agreed to the event either way. ❝So, if that's the bad news, what's the good news?❞
