A place Soft as cotton Cold like snow

I saw a hand (so beautiful) I gazed and gazed (hooked) I stared (unbelieving) The hand (so sweet) turned toward me It stretched (unconscious) toward my breast It took my heart away from me The hand (so precious) closed into a fist But the heart (mine) was still in it It started beating very hard The hollow in my breast (hurting) cried The hand (unconscious) swallowed As I lay there in the sand (defeated) Next to the drying heart I gazed and gazed (loving) I stared (unbelieving)
