ik the whole reoccurring internet thing is that the green lanterns are space cops or whatever. but the lantern corps as knightly orders, and the lanterns themselves as knights and paladins, is actually so much better. they swear oaths, and dress themselves in the banners and colours of their orders, and work across the galaxy to bring about what they believe in, whatever it may be. the lantern corps as knights.

#GRABS YOU BY THE SKULL #yeaghe.#perhaps it is my own internal obsession w/ paladins but the entire vibe of everything ever related to the lantern corps SCREAMS paladin #one of my favourite parts about paladins (within fantasy/DND specifically)#is the fact that any magical abilities come directly from their oath and will #to believe in something so strongly that you PHYSICALLY warp reality to your will because you refuse to allow another option #IS THAT NOT THE WHOOOOLE VIBEEEEE OF THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS (and variations in of the other corps... corpseseses...)#also there's something so Arthurian about the process!! you get chosen by a fuckin mythical object/weapon and are inducted into an order!!#are we being serious!!#the Space Cops route for the GL corps bores me to tears. there's so many more interesting things you can to with the corps #sigh... my comfort character wouldn't hug me or tell me it's all gonna be okay But they would kinda clap me on the shoulder and nod and their eyes would dart to the side awkwardly because they don't really know what to say. occasionally they would mumble something akin to "oh no" and furrow their eyebrows Especially Strongly to show that they do not approve of whatever I'm sad about. my comfort character knows what facial expressions are and how to use them. yay.
