It all starts on a planet on the far edges of the milky way, thereās a small solar system weāre part of, and out planet was one of the biggest ones, this planet is Nydexiz.
It was ruled by two different species, Shrigs, my species, and Agstrons, a much bigger and stronger species, somehow our ancestors found the way to divide the land and stay in good terms with each other, we lived in harmony, each one by their side and staying on their territory.
I was raised in an important family, we didnāt get to royalty or anything, but we were often involved on issues from the castle and the royal family so we lived in the castle, my parents were treated as part of the royal court.
Despite most of our people being no taller than a foot, our resources were running low, and the queen saw an opportunity to unify our species, something she had shown interest on before, the plan was to have the shrig princess marry the agstron prince, so they could rule the new kingdom together.
Everything was going according to plan and the castle was full of movement, both species coming and going from kingdom to kingdom, while this happened, some of the children of the royal court were each given their personal servant, being the lack of service people a consequence of all the movement.
Thatās when I met Phoebe, she was assigned to accompany me, but we had already interacted once or twice around the castle, of course she was much more smaller than me, being part of the lower classes, but I always treated her as an equal, something she was grateful for. I ended up getting a friend, I even helped her figure out her gender identity, a term that we both were unaware of, it was, along with homosexuality, something forbidden, and abomination, it took us many deep talks and sleepless nights to figure it out, I even managed to get her some dresses, she could only used them when we were alone, but it made her happy, and it made me happy. We started dating eventually, as a secret, and since it was her job to be next to me at all times, no one could really suspect about our thing, such different classes dating wasnāt seen well, and added to the fact that we were both girls, yeah, keeping it a secret was the safest thing to do.
At some point, my parents found out, and made sure to keep us separated, their plan was to send me to the outskirts of the kingdom once the royal wedding was done, I was locked in my room for days, I didnāt even know what they had done to her, if she was still in the castle, if she was okay, nothing.
The day of the royal wedding was approaching, and again, everything was going well, but out of nowhere, and without a public reason, it got canceled, we never really knew which side canceled it, but they were both angry at each other and when we least expected, a war started.
Nydexiz changed for the worst, the only thing everyone cared about was their own safety, breaking families apart, leaving friends behind, even murdering their own kind to assure their survival, the people in the castle were moved to a bunker, it was then when we managed to get reunited, and escaped, we both feared for out lives but we were together, thatās what mattered.
The shrig queen was known for dominating all sorts of powerful magic, magic she used for her kingdomās advantage, despite them being considerably bigger and stronger than us, agstron blood was spilled all around the planet.
Shrigs and Agstrons were evacuating the planet, and I was between one of those groups, a new place to start was what we wanted to live happily, and Nydexiz didnāt feel like home anymore, but we were attacked before leaving. A group of agstron soldiers were taking prisoners and between the crowd and the commotion, Phoebe and I got separated.
I looked everywhere for her, calling her name, trying to think positive and keep the bad thoughts out of my head, a soldier wanted to take me and we fought, I managed to knock him out after a lot of struggling, just in time to see the agstron ship going away, just in time to see the cages dangling from it, and Phoebe on one of them.
I tried to run after the ship, but the soldier I was fighting recovered and pushed me into an escape capsule, we activated it as we fought, I killed him in the end butt it was too late, we were flying away from Nydexiz.
We landed on a neighbor planet, of course it was just his corpse and I, the people on the nearby town helped me heal my wounds and get some resources, I walked around the planet without a home until I managed to get my hands on a ship, I tried going back to Nydexiz, but anyone who managed to escape was considered a traitor, and there was no wat of getting in and out without dying, I had to leave my planet and my love behind, I have been roaming around space since then until I got here.
