We Die Like Heroes

                        “O-Ofcourse! why would I do that? Endeavor is…” He looked visibly uncomfortable. but then shook it off. “I wouldn’t sell it for the world All Might!”

                          This was the most beautiful present he could have ever asked for. “T-Thank you All Might!” He cried. Holding the poster in his arms. “I-I’ll hang it up in my dorm!”

“Oh, sorry, sensei! I didn’t mean to sneak up on you!” A few well placed gestures accompany his words.

CHOPSTICKS spun betwixt fingers, again–no, [INSTEAD] eyebrow furrowed. “Miss Family Friendly? All Might I swear if this ends with ‘I’m dating her’..!” Noodles slurped.

“What?!  No!  I’ve never dated a woman!” The loophole being he had had plenty of boyfriends over the years, none for more than a couple months.

NUGGETS took, eyebrow lifted. “All Might,” testily, warningly, “Before I eat this–What’re you hiding. –You didn’t get rid of my Endeavour stuff did you?”

“Uhhh...”

Honestly?  Midoriya was hardly comfortable, even standing as far away from the other as he could in the room.  Everything just made his head spin, and let confusion bubble up into…well, into his regular anxiety spikes.  That was nothing new.

What was new was that now there were, theoretically, two All Mights.  One with much less solid morals than the first.  “Of course I’m telling the truth.  I don’t have any reason to lie right now…”  He moved one hand to his opposite arm, digging his fingers in a bit to remind him that this wasn’t some weird nightmare.  “This has…gotta be from some kinda quirk, right?”

“Most likely,” All Might answers with a sigh.  “We’ll put you back as soon as we find who caused you to come here in the first place, but for now...”  Toshi’s voice died in his throat.  If he said this, he would have to follow through on it.  “Truce?”

“Whatever happened between the me you know and yourself, I can’t change it. But maybe...  I can try and make up for lost time.  They wanted to bunk you with Eraserhead for now, but I thought you should have a choice in the matter.”  He held out a hand to Midoriya.

“Oh, uhh...” The name is on the tip of his tongue when he looks at the other man.  “Mike, right?  We went to the same high school.  You helped me beat up nerds once or twice, which is more than most people would...”  He’s getting off on a tangent.

“Hey there, kiddo,” he sits down on the couch in the teacher’s lounge where they’re meeting.  “So... I heard they cleared you at the nurse’s office.  You’re really not the Midoriya I know, and...  likely telling the truth about him.”
