i'm going to be turning off anon for awhile and spending some time on my other blogs.

sweetheart, i’ve said my piece. i’m not willing to change it, simply becauseit offends you; whether or not it was historically accurate, a big piece ofesmeralda’s character through the movie was anchored in the fact thatshe fought the racism and prejudice shown toward her people. i’m notwilling to just ignore that racism in order to be politically correct.again, if this bothers you, you’re more than welcome to unfollow me.i’m aware that my choices are debatable by anyone, and everyone, butfinding ways to inadvertently call me racist or make me look ignorant isn’tgoing to change a thing.

yes, i’m very aware of that, friend—and i apologize if it offends you.i have a significant bit of romani blood in me, and i would never usethat word in a context outside of role-play to refer to any person whoshares that blood. i’m only using the term based on the fact that i’dlike to retain my accuracy in regards to the movie. that word wasthrown around a lot by disney, and in esmeralda’s current setting,that word is fairly commonplace. it’s a fictional setting, and i do mybest to draw the line between fiction and reality. i will be using thatterm in my role-play, as it was used in the movie, even by esmeraldaherself at times. please note that i will not be using this word out ofcharacter, and do not intend it as a racial slur toward anyone.that being said, if the word offends you in the context that i’ve chosento use it, i apologize, and you’re free to unfollow me.
