Bubba had to go to the vet about a week ago and he is now on medication. He gets an antibiotic twice a day and a steroid once every other day and an eye drop twice a day. Oh man, getting old is a blast, huh? On top of that I put a private bowl of dry food out for him three times a day, which I saturate in water then drain so it's really soft. He also gets a bowl filled with ice so it's constantly ice cold, which I put new ice in 3 to 5 times a day. This is to help with the growth in his mouth, which was probably quite painful. He will be starting his pain medication tonight. They think surgery will be too much for him due to his age (14 to 16 years) so we can just make him as comfortable as possible until his time comes. Moki would have never laid in the middle of the room like this a couple of years ago. Finally after six years, two of which were spent living under a bed, she has finally started to live like a normal cat. I am so happy to see things like this, you have no idea. She was supposed to go up for adoption as a kitten, which is when we brought her in (around 4 months), but she unfortunately hid under a bed and had to be fed and given water under there and would only sneak out at night while everyone slept to use the litter box. After nearly a year she started playing with a laser pointer but only under the bed, barely sticking her paws out. Now she will walk up to people who come over who are sitting down and will let them pet her - as long as they don't move fast. We aren't sure why she is so scared but she has changed so dramatically and it makes me happy to say that because I know now she isn't so scared that she is suffering. | Instagram | YouTube | MEOW!
