Fun facts: I almost died. My father had an affair with a married woman for years and when he got called on it, he left us. Last I know he didn’t think he did anything wrong. I have to beg people to talk to me because only two people reached out to me. No one will ask me about my stories. I have to tearfully beg my mother to read my story or my blog but she is happy to complain that my brother doesn’t share his pictures. Going through my old art posts I saw I begged a lot for suggestions and that never worked. Clearly people don’t give a shit about what I do except me. Too bad, I’m going to keep making things whether people approve or not.

Thinking I might do writing excerpts on my main. Will I follow through? Who knows!

I went through some old art and holy shit I could draw.

So you know those crazy medical mysteries your mom reads about in Reader’s Digest? Well one of those happened to me. On Aug 1 2016 I had surgery for NF2 and two weeks later I was paralyzed. It took a year for doctors to reckon my body didn’t like being operated on but I knew that pretty damn fast. I am still essentially paralyzed, I have a super fancy computer that reads my eyes so alas I cannot draw. But I can write! I’m juggling a few stories and I maintain a blog, old one is amandawelkercom.wordpress.com and newer that gets updated is amandagwelker.wordpress.com. Anything you read is true, I don’t embellish my life. If I could do heart emojis then I would. Miss you all!!

Surgery went great, they got 75-80% of the tumor, I came home on Friday and have had low pain the whole time. Yay things!

Okay so I feel like a bit of a liar and a cheat by churning out a lot of art for you guys, because there's gonna be a long quiet stretch here soon. I've got very major surgery bright and early on August 1 and doing art is a great way to not dwell on that. The surgery more specifically is to remove a fist sized tumor from my left hip (we are believing it to be a growth which is characteristic of NF2/ neurofibromatosis type 2, i.e. tumors galore) and it will be rather complex so I can't even guess at my recovery time. Regardless I assume I will not be drawing much soon, and for that I am sorry. Reading through all of your tags (ALL OF THEM) has lifted my spirits all week so with every fiber of my being, thank you ❤️ I may churn out a piece or two more before Monday, but failing that I will talk to you all later. My choices were sit and poke on this for another week and make it worse or just post it so here we are. I am tentatively working on a self indulgent kylux au fic I’m referring to as “The Witch and the Warrior”. The gist so far is: winter has plagued the land for a hundred years. Hux, a knight of the First Order, has been sent by Lord Snoke to retrieve the witch known as Kylo Ren who Snoke believes has the ability to end the endless winter, and shenanigans ensue as Hux delivers his suspiciously compliant prisoner. As I brainstormed I kept seeing vague parallels to Jaime and Brienne from Game of Thrones so how could I resist attempting to draw them?
