Hi! Today I´m giving you some tips on how to make a bullet journal! 

It´s not a HUGE post but I really hope that this help you :)

what´s a bullet journal?

It´s an organisation system like a planner, but you can do whatever you want and make pages that you really need.

Okay now you need to know what materials you need to do a bullet journal:

-notebook

-pen or pencil (I will recomend first doing the skecht in the pencil then do with the pen)

But if you are extra like me you can use other materials:

-washi tapes

-stickers

-printed images

-brush pens

Now you need to do your SETUP. Some pages on your bullet journal are essencial:

Here you´ll reference where you can find an especific page. So if you decided to do an index, make sure that you´re numbering the pages!

If you don’t know, these are quotes to decorate/use in the bullet journal, and are super useful for those moments when you desperately want a quote to relate to something but can’t seem to find one. Before classes:

1 - Have a good night of sleep.  - At least eight hours.

2 - Take some coffee before going to school.  - Always have a snack in your bag. (Don’t study hungry)

3 - Workout. - I know it’s going to be hard, since most of you have to wake up so early, but working out will help you to make the most out of your day. 

4 - Organize your bag the night before. 

5 - Go through what you’ll be learning on the day. - This way you will be prepared and you can take notes about your doubts on the subjects.

6 - Listen to a badass playlist on the way to school/college. - It will boast your motivation. 

7 - Drink a lot of water.  - That’s a tip to the whole day, actually. Always remember to take a bottle of water or tea to school/college. 

During class:

1 - Sit in the front. - You will understand more your teacher and be away from the noises that can take away your attention.

2 - Ask questions. (No matter how dumb you think they are.) - Do not end a class with doubts. If you can’t ask during the class, take a note of your question on a sticker/notebook to ask later.

3 - Record the lectures.

4 - Put stickers on notes you will need to go over. 

5 - Listen to your teacher. - Be friendly with them. - Write down their names and contacts (number, emails, social media).

6 - Taking notes on class!

- Don’t worry about it being pretty, just make it organized and understandable so you can go over and make real notes later.  - Always start with the subject title and date.  - Differentiate by color your teacher’s notes and yours. Put in red (or any other color you want, actually) the important things.

After class:

1 - Eat. - You need to replace energy!

2 - Review everything you learned on the day you learned it.

3 - Complete your homework on the day you get it.  - Or start it, if the task is too big.  - NEVER FALL BEHIND!

4 - Dress comfy.

5 - Have office hours in case you didn’t understand something.

6 - Watch documentaries on the topic you are currently studying.

7 - Study 30 minutes (50 minutes at the very most) and stop for 10 minutes.  - Leave your study place when it’s break time.

8 - Turn off your phone or let it out of sight. 

9 - Test yourself/talk out loud. - Do practice questions!

10 - Taking notes after class!

HOW TO BE PRODUCTIVE ON THE WEEKENDS

Hi study buddies it is Saturday night and I’m home alone and one thing I hate about being alone is that I really never get anything done. I’m either cooking or I’m in my bed and I just hate doing that because I’m so unproductive. I know a lot of us just hate studying especially during our “down time” and we also have other priorities we need to do during the daytime. So today I’m going over some tips on how you can make your weekend a little but more productive and studious. 

there are 60 hours between the end of Friday after getting out of school and the end of Sunday, substracting let’s say seven hours of sleep every day you have about 39 hours of free time.

That is plenty of time to relax, do all the activities you need to do and also be productive to work on assignments. The first thing you need to do is plan out your weekend and make a schedule.

STUDY EARLY + PLAN A SCHEDULE

Weekends are a time for you to relax, but if you can, try to start working early in the morning because you’re going to be more productive and your brain can actually function properly. 

By 12-1 AM at night is the time where the majority of people including me cannot be productive so just try to avoid working during that time period because it’s just not a good time to be trying to memorize math functions and write a week pieced essay. I know that every time I try to study during 1 AM or 2 AM I always end up being so slow at retaining information, it just becomes counter productive. 

Start your assignments on Saturday night or the afternoon and try to finish it during Sunday morning. (recommended)

if you have the motivation to start your homework during Friday obviously do your homework during Friday, that is the best thing to do, but for the majority of us I know we would like to relax for a little bit.

So just try to plan a routine and schedule that matches your weekend

FIND A STUDY PARTNER

So now that you have created a routine or something or you can follow. I’m going to go over some tips on how you can be more focused and concentrated on doing the stuff that you need to do.

find a study buddy or just a friend that you know can keep you company. 

go to your local coffee shop or someone’s house and work there because if you have someone nearby, they can keep you accountable for actually doing your work  (obviously find a friend that will not distract you).

 If you can’t meet them in person Skype them I know a lot of people go on Skype chats with your friends and do homework. I think that is a really good idea I’ve done it a few times myself and I’ve been pretty productive during them. So try to have someone nearby that can keep you on track so you don’t spiral down into a YouTube and Netflix day.

NO MORE DISTRACTIONS

Another thing you can do is actually download some applications  that can keep you off sites like Netflix, YouTube, and Facebook.

I talked about this in my how to be productive after school video and basically just download this app called “self control” {link}

what it does is that a blocks you from using sites that you would normally get distracted on.

So you can and manually put in sites like Facebook.com and Netflix.com The app will block you from using it for certain amount of time that you put in, so usually when I’m studying I block myself from using YouTube for about 30 minutes to an hour limit.

FIND A STUDY SPACE

Experiment with where you’re studying because I know I cannot concentrate for my life In my bedroom.

The majority of the times where I’m the most productive is in my kitchen

experiment with where you’re studying and find out if you were the most productive in your bedroom or if you’re the most productive sitting on a couch or on a dining table.

TO-DO LIST

My fourth tip is to have a to-do list of all the things you need to do.

 having a written down to do list is really important because sometimes you just forget about tasks and you might end up not doing some of them.

having a physical piece of paper saying that you need to do all these things by the end of it this day will help you to keep you on track.

LISTEN TO MUSIC (or not, it depends)

Another thing you can do is actually play some music

music helps a lot of people, including me, study more efficiently because it blocks out all the distractions from the outside world and keeps you focused inside your little bubble so you can work on your assignments

note that music isn’t always the best thing to listen to while studying especially for classes like history or english but I do really recommend it if you’re doing some math problems because it can be quite relaxing

we’ve all been in this situation for different reasons, anxiety, procrastination, work, way too many assignments in a week. but fear not my friends, hopefully, this masterpost will help you get A’s and organize your study schedule.

01. handwriting (at least for me) makes or breaks a spread

i’ve always found that if my handwriting looks nice and neat, i like the spread so much better regardless of whether it matches/has a theme/whatever. i would say take the most amount of time on your handwriting and maybe you’ll feel more proud of the spread?? idk that’s what works for me lol!

02. don’t worry about making sure you have a theme

ok real talk my bujo spreads literally never have a theme everything is always a riot of color and i just paste/tape/glue/write whatever i feel like into the margins on the sides. i think there seems to be pressure to make sure your spread is super color coded with perfect brush lettering and washi tape that perfectly matches your ink color and tbh those are nice and if that’s ya thing great!! but to me they’ve always seemed unattainable and i never strive for that

03. fill it with what you like!! do what you’re feelin’

it’s your bullet journal. no one else can or should tell you how to create it as it is a representation of yourself (and i’m not trying to do that in this post i’m just offering what works for me!! what works for another studyblr will be completely different). example: i’ve been really into star trek the past few weeks and consequently, my spreads have been full of star trek lmao because right now it’s making me happy!! plus i’ll love to look back one day and remember this feeling and to me my bullet journal is like a low maintenance diary bc u can literally do anything you want with it 

04. don’t be afraid to break your own traditions

i remember thinking at the beginning of my bujo journey that everything had to be perfect and each month i had to create my habit tracker exactly the same and doing one thing differently would stress me out and like,, no! my main advice is do whatever you’re feeling and don’t compare it to others in the community (and i know people have some amazing bullet journals so it’s hard not to compare) but in the end what’s right for them may not be right for u!!

05. update it every night before you go to bed!!

because the request was about remembering to keep it up! tbh i don’t do this as often as i should but one of my daily habit tracker things is “prepared for the next day” and i only check this off if, at the end of the day, my bujo is updated and ready, my lunch is made, my clothes are laid out, and i’m prepared for the day ahead of me and the only reason i ever am prepared is because i’m so vain that i want to fill in all the little circles and cross every item on my list and tbh trying to keep everything organized and neat and that satisfaction of being able to cross something off my to do list is the only reason my bujo functions for me lmao (if anyone is interested my other habit tracker categories are productive (which i only check off if i finished all my to dos), play with my dogs, and duolingo!)

06. when designing your spreads, don’t have a reference image open!

imo this messes with my creativity. if i try to copy someone else’s spread i get frustrated and i always feel like it looks really bad compared to theirs (which is a bad mentality anyway bc u should never compare your work, least of all your creative expression, to another’s like this). however, to clarify, i think taking inspiration from people is a great thing!! i love to look at other people’s bujos and try to incorporate things they’ve done but i don’t think it’s respectful or helpful to copy someone’s style exactly. (also if anyone is interested i could make a lil post about people with great bullet journals?? or maybe i could do bullet journal compliments???? does anyone want this lol i’m just typing as i’m thinking but lmk if i should do bujo compliments!!) also @studyrose ‘s bullet journal is probably my favorite hers are always beautiful and i get a lot of my ideas from her so u should check it out :)

07. maybe make an aesthetics tag?

i have a tag #aesthetic (feel free to check it out!!) of images i reblog (mostly art and photography) that i can look back thru and print out to glue into my bullet journal! it’s super helpful when i don’t have any magazines to clip. i also have an #art tag on my fandom sideblogs (i’m such a nerd i can’t believe i have more than one lamoamo) and i frequently print fanart from them as well!! (just make sure to credit the artist if u post a pic involving their art i used to not do this but then i realized how disrespectful it is so i make sure to tag the artist now lol)

08. it’s okay to take a break from bullet journaling, especially if it’s becoming more of a hindrance than a help. it’s meant to help you organize your life and if it becomes more of a hassle than it’s worth, just take a break. reset. come back for the next monthly spread better than ever.

i have done this many times in the past and you don’t owe an explanation to anyone. it’s meant for you.

Hi everyone! I’ve been obsessing over masterposts recently, and decided to make one of my own. This is going to be all about organizing and cleaning your room, with some of my tips. I haven’t seen many posts about full room cleans, which kinda surprised me because I find that when I have a really organized and clean room, it is much easier for me to stay motivated and excited about being productive. Anyways, let’s get started!

1. Put yourself in the mood for cleaning: Alright, this sounds a little weird, but get yourself set up to clean with some background noise and whatever else you need. I like to bring in a pet to have some company in my room (I have a dog, any other animal that you have I’m sure would work too though hehe). I also like to put on some youtube videos in the background - the video in the picture is by @studyquill :)

2. Time to Start Cleaning!: First, I like to start with making my room LOOK clean. There is a difference between looking clean and actually being clean (the difference being if your room is organized as well). So move any clothes off the floor and bed, do laundry, make your bed, take out the trash etc. 

3. Throwing Things Away: If you’re anything like me, you probably have quite a few piles of notecards, papers, dried up pens and more that you should’ve thrown away/recycled a long time ago. Go ahead and get rid of that. During this phase, I also like to look through my closet and dresser to find any accessories and clothes that I no longer wear to donate and/or sell. 

4. Makeup and Hair Products: If you don’t have much of this that needs to be organized, you can skip this part, but I know that my makeup area gets super messy (even tho I only use like 2 products?? idk.). Organize that into a free space you have in your room, or in your bathroom if that’s what you prefer. Also make sure your brushes are clean! 

5. Organizing Stationary: This part is always the hardest for me, but definitely the most satisfying. First, I go through all my pens and test them to check for dried out ones. Then, I find any containers/jars that I can organize the pens in, and then separate my pens by brand, most frequently used, and/or types. Next I get all my stickers and washi together and organize it into a basket of its own. Refer to the picture below to see how I like to organize everything.

6. Desk time!: Finally, you’re going to need to organize your desk/study space. My desk is always a mess, so it’s always nice to get it cleaned out lol. First I like to organize my favorite books and notebooks into an aesthetically pleasing array just cause that’s fun. I keep two notebooks on my desk, a travel book, a beauty book, a writing ideas journal, Winnie the Pooh in Latin (lol if you didn’t know I take Latin haha), a ‘Pick Me Up’ journal, and a meditation guide book. Then, I clean everything out and organize cubbies/drawers into sections. The sections I usually have are pens, tech, random things I don’t want to get rid of (literally random little trinkets that I just have too much emotional attachment to), and other supplies. In this step I also make sure my calendar is updated because I know one time I had a September calendar up and it was literally April… oops.
