ioann and vritz are searching for a way to let the magic roam freely as it has stopped working entierly.. vritz is obsessed with magic cuz its all he has ever known and ioann is one of a few people who can communicate with power beings that control magic

they warming up to each other slowly, vritz shows vulnerability and ioann is taking responsibility for his life

some time and failed executions later vritz finds out that his strong magic doesnt belong to him (and its just a magic "shard" stuck in him) and it shocks him so much he goes crazy and kills the woooorld

evil bastard he is

he doesnt kill ioann though cuz some part of him thought fondly of ioann.. and the period of stagnation begins (with smog all over the sky and burning ground)

ioann has so much love for vritz and the world itslef in him, he doesnt see any other way than kill vritz and reborn the world

when he awakens from slumber the world is anew, filled with endless fields and flowers and the wind is finally free. he meets ethal - vritz's reincarnation and starts to take care of him

and the cycle will repeat itself, love and freedom remaining in the world

so in conclusion: vritz and ethal is "magic" and "human" parts of vritz, and ioann brings the human part out with love.

vritz is consumed by the need of power as last resort for existing and ioann struggles with deciding for himself and coming of age
