You know, when people say Hazbin Guarantee is foreshadowing or something, they always mention that Vox focusses in on 'Trust Me', but never mention he self-corrects to 'Us'.
Like he is not reminded by anyone else, not audibly or visually. He just has a moment of 'wait shit Val and Vel are in this too' and corrects himself.
And by Val and Vel's reactions, it's just something he does sometimes. Like, uh huh, sure you meant to say that. (Who is he trying to convince honestly lmao).
And that's reflected in later dialogue and actions btw. They expect Vox to be selfish, to have these moments where he's only focussed on himself (a large part of their inaction against his spiral stems from a 'he'll get it out of his system' mentality tbh). But the key thing here is the self-correction. Vox makes an active effort to include Val and Vel, and when he slips, he seems to usually catch himself afterwards. But he stops doing that during this season, and Val and Vel have to do it for him (the sign 'I struck down heaven' corrected to 'we', 'you mean our plan' from val, 'our triumph' from vel, etc). And honestly, I think that's what's annoying them about this. Not the fact its happening at all, but the fact he stops making the effort to correct himself. The fact he starts being dismissive of including them.
I think that's what a lot of people miss. The vees are shitty people. They know they're shitty people. They are very familiar with each others flaws. And they care about each other despite that. And i think that self-correction is a sign for them that shows he cares (that despite his self-centeredness, he makes an effort to be a team player for them), and when he stops doing that, it can look like he stopped caring (of course, there's more going into that with his extremely obvious manic episode and spiral but it's not about that).
My take away honestly is that people need to stop taking everything about the vees from ep4 onwards at face value and start actually looking into their dynamic more. What's happening is so obviously out of the norm. They so clearly care about each other in their own, non-conventional ways. PLEASE.
