Our screenshot submission was late!
Donāt forget to take the time zone of your submission deadlines into account when you approach crunch time. We learned this the hard way. Yes, we submitted our screenshots for milestone 2 of the Jam LATE. We assumed the midnight deadline was EST, not UTC+8, which is 13 hours ahead of us. REGARDLESS--here are the screenshots! A lot of visual work is needed, but itās not on our immediate task list. Still, looking gooooood: Ā Ā

Memorized Objects test
Simple test of permanently outlining objects that you touch. Itās as simple as changing the outlined objectās shader and tag on collision. I want to add an effect to confirm to the player that theyāve touched a special object. Not sure how Iāll do that yet. I guess on collision Iāll add a particle effect or simple animation and sound. Ā
Whoo! Shader improvements! That was much easier than I thought. In the outline shader, I check the fragment distance from your āhandā, and then calculate and assign an alpha value to the pixel. It works really well! Next Iāll be adding a system where certain objects remain lit when you touch them.
Shader test on new environment models
This will be a large part of the environment. Itāll stand a foot or two above the player.

Iām liking the effect so far, but I donāt want the whole object to appear at the same alpha. I want areas on each object to appear based on my proximity to them. Thatās my next milestone. -Nando
Alright, first post! So our plan for this blog is to log the development progress of the game without revealing much about it. Expect a lot of art and mechanics tests (above).
