𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐌 𝐈𝐒 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃 , laid to rest in a coffin of its own making ; there are objective truths in this world –– things that simply … are . ( primary premises that exist in the universe , permanent & unchanging . ) ❛ there is nothing to decide . the truth is the truth –– regardless of what i think . ❜ if the sarcasm should manage to weasel its way into that magisterial head of his , the immutable expression on his face does not betray as much . façades do not confound him ; he is too enamoured by the idea of divine knowledge to believe , even for a second , that this nameless / spineless / 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 stranger could ever succeed in lying to him .

( wretched , wretched thing , slicing through skin & through muscle like the stroke of a knife . lips too pale / eyes too empty . ) he leans forward , propping his elbows on his knees . this is no officer of the imperial order ; this is simply a 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰 with a worm in its beak . ❛ knowledge is power . ❜
THE OTHER’S CRYPTIC WORDS do nothing to break his facade, but that smile of his when he motions at his head, the secrets he had in his brain suddenly seeming so valuable that mike was astounded he hadn’t realized it before. or rather, he had, yet it had slipped his mind so easily. he didn’t have to talk for them to get what they wanted. it would be so swift, so painful, but so satisfying for them to rip the information from his thoughts in one quick swoop, or even draw it out, and he really didn’t want to dwell on such things, especially given how unbalanced any potential fight would be right now if he panicked and attempted escape. instead, he remains still, head tilting back to rest on cold metal, eyeing the knight with careful scrutiny.
