Paint Tool SAI stabilizer fix for Windows 10
This was causing jagged lines in my Paint Tool SAI for WACOM tablet drivers and it turned out the culprit was Windows Ink Workspace. So I looked around and THIS fix helped me completely.
Copypasting for reference:
First off, you need to disable Windows Ink Workspace. Which you said you already know how to do, but just in case someone reading this doesnât:
Press the Windows Key + R.
In Open:, copy and paste this: regedit
Press Okay. Windows may ask you to give permission, just say yes.
In the new window, navigate to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft
Right click on the Microsoft file and select New > Key.
Name the new key WindowsInkWorkspace
While in WindowsInkWorkspace, right click anywhere on empty space. Select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
Name it AllowWindowsInkWorkspace and leave the value at 0.
Close everything and restart your computer. Poof! Ink is gone. You will notice the icon is missing.
Now that Windows Ink has been shut off, time to handle the Wacom side of things. Again, you said youâve disabled Windows Ink in there, but now itâs making you be more specific about it.
Make sure all Sai windows have been closed.
Open Wacom Tablet Properties.
At the top of the window, there is a section called Application. In it, you will see âAll Otherâ and then probably âPhotoshopâ, if you have photoshop. Click on the plus sign to the right of this menu.
You will get a new window named âAdd Application for Custom Settingsâ. Click on the âBrowseâ button and find your Saiâs exe. Itâs wherever you saved your Sai file. With your exe located, click âOkayâ.
Now that youâve added it, select Sai in the Applications menu at the top of the window.
Go to Mapping and uncheck the box labeled âUse Windows Inkâ
Close the Wacom Tablet Properties and your settings should save. Open Sai to check if it worked!
I donât know why you have to both disable Ink and make specific settings for Sai, but whatever gets the job done, I guess!
