Of course he had; it isn’t like Ganju and Kukaku are exactly QUIET about who they are. He’s surprised everyone in Soul Society doesn’t know their names. So his initial response  is to nod, brows furrowed——confused, yes, but also…curious.

            ❝ Yeah…the fireworks enthusiasts. Are you gonna give me YOUR side of the                      family tree, finally? ❞

His words may sound sharp, rude, but his voice is soft, his gaze alert, serious.

                                      Dark brows creased together, brown eyes locked on the window and staring at the night outside. It was time to tell him. His own son didn’t even know that much about him or where he came from. Isshin couldn’t help but feel like a total stranger just then. What would Masaki think about this situation? Would she have scolded him for not telling their son? Exhale.

                                        There was a serious edge to his tone, almost hurt. Looking at Ichigo he was reminded so much of Kaien. The memories that he had pushed aside every single day of his life all came crashing down like heavy rain. His White Sun was gone, but his children were what replaced that sun.

         ❛ Kukaku and Ganju. . .i’m their uncle. . ., ❜   name left unsaid. Isshin didn’t want to say his name, but right now he had no choice. Ichigo had to know. Even til this day, Kaien’s death still shook him. He couldn’t imagine how much pain it put Rukia through, but he was extremely grateful to her.

                ❛  i assume byakuya-boy and juushiro have compared you to someone, right? back at the soul society? if not kukaku and ganju, though i understand why they wouldn’t bring his name up.  ❜

                                              ‘ you know i’m a soul reaper. . .i used to be Captain of the Tenth Division. ’ throat tightening, did he really want to say that last surname he always held dear to his heart? ---brown eyes casts downward, avoiding ichigo’s gaze, ‘ Shiba Isshin was the name i went by back in the soul soceity. i’m sure. . ., ’ lips quivered for a brief second before he let his teeth bite into their flesh.
