ORA at St. Catherine's College, Session 3

It's been an absolute pleasure getting to know you all over the last few weeks, from all of the campus staff - goodbye and good luck for the future and we wish you all safe travels home. Hopefully the last few weeks have been as enjoyable for you as it has been for us. We hope to see you all in 2015!

A few more from last nights graduation party. The students had a brilliant night with the British seaside theme and enjoyed their last night together. As the night drew to a close there were tears all round but everyone promised to keep in touch!

The British seaside themed party is going down a treat. After a long two weeks of hard work the students are taking full advantage of letting their hair down and enjoying some traditionally British seaside activities.

The graduation ceremony is underway and students are getting the credit they deserve for all of their hard work and dedication after the last two weeks. Everyone is extremely excited to be graduating but there is also a sense of nostalgia in the air as everyone thinks about their adventure coming to an end.

We have just had a delicious meal in the dining hall and are now heading over to the Bernard Sunley lecture theatre for the graduation ceremony. Students are about to receive commendation for all of the hard work they have put in over the last two weeks!

Students are gathering in the quad just before the graduation dinner begins. Everyone has made an effort, suited and booted and ready for their final evening at Oxford Royale!

It’s graduation day! Tonight students will graduate from ORA and receive their graduation certificates and packs. This will be followed by a delicious three course meal in the dining hall and a ‘British seaside’ themed party in the marquee. It’s set to be an exciting last day here at Oxford Royale and it seems the sun has even decided to make an appearance for it!

"I can't believe it's the second last day of working at ORA for the summer. It's been an incredible six weeks and the group of students present for this last session have been great. Thanks to every student we've had for making the summer such a laugh!" Jenni, Counsellor

Victoria, Leen and Noura in their new hoodies. They bought matching souvenirs to remember their time at ORA and the friends that they have made over the last two weeks in this beautiful city!

In the words of counsellor Matt; “the students may not have built amazing skyscrapers but they have built amazing friendships!”

The workshop is going well. Students have split to to groups of four and now have an hour to build their very own skyscraper. Following a discussion over the best strategy to adopt, the groups are all hard at work building the bases for their towers!

Tonight the students are partaking in an architecture workshop. They are being taught the basics of structure design, and will then attempt to build their own skyscraper.

Counsellor led activity of football this evening now that the weather has cleared up. The students play on the lawns of St Catherine's college and both the boys and girls get involved.

Hilary and Camilla enjoyed their last free afternoon in Oxford; they went shopping and purchased matching onesies for the rather chilly weather that has crept in.

It's been a very relaxing afternoon at ORA after punting was cancelled due to the weather. The students are enjoying their last free afternoon together in the marquee. Some are relaxing on the bean bags while others play a friendly game of table tennis!
