Figaro is currently a bit like a fool. Cleaning up messes and disposing of..unsightly things after shows. He doesn’t mind this as he usually keeps more out of sight during the busier hours.
He is not fond of humans and finds them annoying. Though the right one might make him change his mind. He has a soft spot for pierrot but mainly answers to Ticket Taker and Jester.

He shouldn’t be so nervous. It was like any other task he had done before but this time he had let watcher influence his way of thinking. What was he doing? Trying to..court? He felt like he might be ill. Still he tried to calm his nerves and steel his resolve. Entering the tent after excusing himself.
“Forgive me,sir. I brought you a coffee. Your usual preference of course.” Should he say something else? He had been flirted with so much recently yet it felt awkward even considering the idea of repeating some of the things he heard.
“I am at your disposal. As always.”

Thank you Figaro. *He takes the cup and takes a sip, humming at the taste* you are nervous. Why is that?
He tensed immediately,though his words thankfully didn’t come out with a stutter.
“Some guests have been..incredibly friendly to me as of late. I am still not used to it. So it has been on my mind.”
It was the truth,and of course he always had to be honest. Though it still took a second before the joker could speak again.
“I..also had a conversation with one guest,watcher? They told me their name was? About..courting.”
Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe he should have continued to just stay in his role. Stay in the shadows like he always had.
“I let the idea get into my head i’m afraid. I apologize.”
Courting hmm?~ curious. Do you have a crush on me dear Figaro? *He chuckles*
“I do.”
He said it so suddenly and so quickly that he felt lightheaded.
“Is..that alright?”
A tall, cloaked, and masked figure quietly entered the circus, his ears moving with each sound, his milky white eyes showing that he was blind.

He had been on a patrol of the circus as per usual before he paused seeing the new guest. Making his way over he surprisingly had to look up at him. He did not do that very often. It was almost intriguing.
“Greetings guest. I am figaro,may I assist you with anything this evening?” He asked keeping his tone polite.
His head tilted when he heard the voice, and he carefully walked closer, a taloned hand appearing from his wrapped wings and hovering over Figaro as if to be sure of his presence.
“Just usual visits, but you are new to me. How curious.”
His tone was calm and polite, while small movements rustled under his wings.
“Batsby is the name. Pleasure to meet you.”
He felt embarrassed for how suddenly red he got the moment batsby’s hand moved closer to his face. He really had not been expecting it.
“I see. I am not usually one to be seen often. I am often behind the scenes.”
“Fair, fair. Many beings are hidden among this circus. I suppose I could refer to you as the fool leader?”
he asked. He didn’t know what Figaro looked like, only the colored silhouette of his aura that only Batsby’s blind eyes were able to see.
Soon, a bundle of three fluff balls scattered out from under his wings and surrounded the man in excited chirps.
ah, forgive my chicks, sir. much too excited it seems his tone surprised, and he tried to gather the three younger Batavens back to him
The assumption had figaro startle momentarily lost for words before speaking up again.
“No. I am not. I am only one of many.”
The sudden eruption of three balls of fluff from under batsby’s wings to surround figaro made him take a careful step back. This one was certainly full of surprises. One after another it seemed.
“It is alright.”
Yet that did not stop him from being awkward. Children felt somewhat rare in the circus,and he didn’t entire know how to interact with them properly. Yet still trying to be polite he went to assist batsby in rounding up the round little things.
“Sigh, sometimes the little ones forget that not everyone is fond of children.”
He gave a low chirp toward the chicks. All three, knowing what their father meant, silently waddled back toward him and sat around his body.
“So you’re not the only fool leader. Interesting. You have quite the role, since I know how the system operates.”
“It is alright. They meant no harm.”
He watched silently as the trio went to return to their father’s side.
“I do not have a stand out role. I only do what is asked of me. Nothing more. I am sure you can understand.”
“Oh, certainly, I can understand. But I wonder, if you were a performer instead, what do you believe your role would be?”
He asked in a curious tone, a hand moving under the beak mask to rest on his chin.
The chicks, however, had now calmed down and started to huddle together and rest.
“I would like to learn aerial dance..if given the chance..”
He was shy about it. He had been content as he was,doing his tasks and taking orders from ticket taker and jester. Being unseen and just living his life in the shadows. The light of performing never even crossed his mind.
“I do not see that in my future however.”
“I see. Judging from your silhouette, you do have the form for it.”
Batsby’s hand hovered thoughtfully over Figaro once more, his clouded eyes remaining closed as he considered the thought. He could not see the future—never had been able to—but years of observing others had made him surprisingly good at imagining where they might belong.
“I can see you as a dancer, the type to use hoops instead of silks.”
The corners of his mouth twitched beneath the mask.
“If you were to hold such a role, my dear... I believe I would be quite impressed to hear of it.”
There was no teasing in his tone—only genuine curiosity.
“And perhaps not entirely surprised. Some paths simply seem to fit a person more naturally than others.”
“Thank you.”
He didn’t know why batsby was so assured that he would be able to claim such a role. It was endearing sure but he dare not let the idea truly stick in his head. However it would not hurt to practice perhaps..in the odd case he needed to fill in a performance.
“I did take to the idea of hoops before..yet I have been an assistant for a long time. I know you believe that is a path that may suit me more. I am however not convinced.”
He wasn’t trying to dissuade batsby’s words. More that he lacked the confidence himself.

Start with at least making it so they can't ignore you; step out of the background when you're around them. You can fulfill your duties while still being in their lives.

A tall, cloaked, and masked figure quietly entered the circus, his ears moving with each sound, his milky white eyes showing that he was blind.

He had been on a patrol of the circus as per usual before he paused seeing the new guest. Making his way over he surprisingly had to look up at him. He did not do that very often. It was almost intriguing.
“Greetings guest. I am figaro,may I assist you with anything this evening?” He asked keeping his tone polite.
His head tilted when he heard the voice, and he carefully walked closer, a taloned hand appearing from his wrapped wings and hovering over Figaro as if to be sure of his presence.
“Just usual visits, but you are new to me. How curious.”
His tone was calm and polite, while small movements rustled under his wings.
“Batsby is the name. Pleasure to meet you.”
He felt embarrassed for how suddenly red he got the moment batsby’s hand moved closer to his face. He really had not been expecting it.
“I see. I am not usually one to be seen often. I am often behind the scenes.”
“Fair, fair. Many beings are hidden among this circus. I suppose I could refer to you as the fool leader?”
he asked. He didn’t know what Figaro looked like, only the colored silhouette of his aura that only Batsby’s blind eyes were able to see.
Soon, a bundle of three fluff balls scattered out from under his wings and surrounded the man in excited chirps.
ah, forgive my chicks, sir. much too excited it seems his tone surprised, and he tried to gather the three younger Batavens back to him
The assumption had figaro startle momentarily lost for words before speaking up again.
“No. I am not. I am only one of many.”
The sudden eruption of three balls of fluff from under batsby’s wings to surround figaro made him take a careful step back. This one was certainly full of surprises. One after another it seemed.
“It is alright.”
Yet that did not stop him from being awkward. Children felt somewhat rare in the circus,and he didn’t entire know how to interact with them properly. Yet still trying to be polite he went to assist batsby in rounding up the round little things.
“Sigh, sometimes the little ones forget that not everyone is fond of children.”
He gave a low chirp toward the chicks. All three, knowing what their father meant, silently waddled back toward him and sat around his body.
“So you’re not the only fool leader. Interesting. You have quite the role, since I know how the system operates.”
“It is alright. They meant no harm.”
He watched silently as the trio went to return to their father’s side.
“I do not have a stand out role. I only do what is asked of me. Nothing more. I am sure you can understand.”
“Oh, certainly, I can understand. But I wonder, if you were a performer instead, what do you believe your role would be?”
He asked in a curious tone, a hand moving under the beak mask to rest on his chin.
The chicks, however, had now calmed down and started to huddle together and rest.
“I would like to learn aerial dance..if given the chance..”
He was shy about it. He had been content as he was,doing his tasks and taking orders from ticket taker and jester. Being unseen and just living his life in the shadows. The light of performing never even crossed his mind.
“I do not see that in my future however.”
