i just had one of my most enlightening moments ever at Wi Spa. omg it felt so good. there were 5 rooms - the hot 192 degree one, jade, clay, salt, and ice.
The really hot was was really hot, but it was our first one so we thought it was normal. We stayed there for like 5 minutes. Then we walked inside jade room - pretty normal, but nothing too fancy.
Then we went inside the clay room. My goodness. the clay room was amazing. you step on the little 1/4″ clay ball spheres and you sink down like quicksand. It makes it difficult to travel quickly but it ain’t hot enough that it will burn you. It was satisfying just walking on the clay -it would move around and massage your arches and between your toes. And then you lay in it, and your world is complete. you swish your feet around and hear the satisfying rumble of clay balls moving and clashing against each other- thousands and thousands of clay balls, imported from korea to be under your body. it was magnificent. I lay down and wanted to take a nap. Vinh kept pressuring me to move on because he was hot (126 degrees inside), but finally we get to a room that is my body temperature-inclined (instead of me being cold all the time with him) that i didn’t want to leave. Sort of like a puppy playing with her new toy but then you take it away.
Next, we tried the salt one but it was jagged and didnt have the same feeling of thousands of clay balls under your feet. But we did find a bunch of clay balls scattered around the salt pieces, and we had a quick competition to see who could capture more clay balls. lol he did. but only because a girl behind him was helping him.
And then the ice room was cold but it closed your pores.
it just amazed me that everyone around us was just lying on the floor in the central room, on a mat, sleeping. We arrived there at 1030 ish and they would charge us $50 if we stayed past 4am. We thought, NBD watever 5 hours is good. but we almost missed it because i passed out because i was so comfortable and vinh lost track of time while playing clash royale. finally woke me up at 3:40 and we didn’t have time to shower.
then we changed into my yellow/his white shirt and our tan shorts. then met at the jijimbul and went inside the 4 saunas.
then went to the rooftop to take a break from the heat, but there were smokers and i was getting cold
we ate a giant platter of shaved ice ($14) and then went inside the clay hut again.
and then i stayed while he left. then i went to the ice room where three white guys were talking about cereal.
then we went out and used their computers and i browsed their huge collection of books.
its amazing. we sat on a mat and i leaned against the wall, and then vinh lay on my lap and tens of others were doing the same except bearhugging and sleeping.
then idk sat inside the 24-hr restaurant inside and the chairs were surprisingly comfortable. I was still full from the KFC and the shaved ice we had earlier lol.
then i went by myself to womens locker room. There is a sauna/shower area where you have to be naked. So i did LOL and then i washed my body a little bit and jumped in the hot tub, then the dry sauna and then the steam sauna.
omg that was an experience in itself. You walk inside the steam sauna and its so dark, its a hazard probably. Only 2 dim lights lit up the room (but it was nothing). I walked a little more forward and tried to find some seats, but there was soooooooo much steam that you can’t see more than 3 feet (arm’s length) in front of you. And then I look to my right, its nothing but steam. Left, I see a black person’s foot and I’m like oh ok benches. So I walk along the bench and slowly another black figure appears. Walk more, and there’s a wall, and another asian girl - then i see an empty space and sit down. It’s so hot and steamy in there that i sweat immediately, and meanwhile hot drops of water accumulate on the ceiling and drop on you. I couldn’t see anything except for the dim glow of light from the door. and this place was only 10 feet but 10 ft maybe. so it was nice. I get out and go back to vinh.
we sleep on a mat and wake up at 3:40 and we unfortunately dont have time to shower. i wanted to use their shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and sit down and shower. Apparently everyone in korea sits and showers? It was cool. There were short white plastic chairs and people would just sit down and their vaginas would touch and idk. LOL. i wanted to try it. and then use their lotion and Qtips. its okay, next time.
yea overall it was such a phenomenal NEW experience - like the clay balls, salt, steam sauna, and the fact that there was a rooftop with 2 fireplaces, a whole korean restuarant inside, and like a room full of sleeping people like wtf i didn’t know those existed. LOL im so uncultured. but now i am cultured. wow that was amazing. Thanks to vinh, I got to try something completely new. And plus, I like walking around naked surrounded by women. The co-ed spaces had to wear clothes but STILL cOOL. i wanted to wear a bathrobe but i couldn’t find them (ran out?) and we got the last blanket too. Basically we had to ask for anything because we didn’t have instructions, so they could have been a little more clear. overall 8/10 solid night.
